Pleco Cave Breeding Ceramic Decorations Fish Tank Aquarium Medium Size (1 pcs)

I purchased 3 of the medium caves in December. I put two in my larger tank (55 Gal.) to give the male and female Bristlenose a choice. The male picked the one he liked and within three days of it being in the tank they spawned (first spawn). The first clutch yielded approximately 40 fry. They just spawned again last week and this time even more fry. The cave is well made and I like the natural log pattern as it fits in well with my planted tank. The medium size is perfect for the Bristlenose plecos. I would recommend these caves to anyone who intends to breed plecos. Shipping was fast and they arrived in good condition.

Perfect size breeder caves for ancistrus and other pleco species in that 2"-5" range. The caves are good quality and they sizzle releasing fine air bubbles a bit when you first sink them into the tank. Visually, a lot more attractive than terra cotta watering spikes.

this is the ideal pleco cave for everyone attempting to keep small to medium size plecos. if you intend to breed them, it would be beneficial to have the very back of the cave a lighter color because the male plecos seem to prefer to see the end of the cave in order to be more comfortable for breeding. maybe the manufacturer would do that next time they make these.

It’s a lot smaller than I expected. Quality is nice. It’s similar to a terracotta clay. If you pleco is bigger than 3inches it won’t work.

I know I have one boy and possibly a girl albino bristle nosed pleco. I’ve had them for a few years now, so they are about 4” long. I heard if I bought a cave, they would mate. So, I ordered this cave and put in the tank tonight. Looking at the wing span of my plecos and the size of the cave, I knew they wouldn’t fit and I was going to remove it. My husband said not too because the other fish might enjoy it. I walked back by the tank about 20 minutes later and they are either fighting or doing a mating ritual. I really cannot tell. But, they love it! I actually had just purchased a different larger model for them before I walked by the tank... I mean they really love it! They tuck their fins and scoot right in, head first, tail first, it doesn’t matter. It almost looks comical because they are so big. But, they’ve figured it out. Now I’m not so sure one is a boy and the other is a girl because the boy charged “the girl” when “she” swam by. They’ve never fought before and will hang out together on the glass all day with no issues. At least, if the “girl” is a boy, another cave will be here in a few days and I’ll put it on the other side of the tank. Just hope I don’t have a casualty before then.

All caves arrived in good condition. Scrubbed them down with aquarium water and put them into service. A couple of my Three Beacon plecos took to them within an hour or so after calming down from the tank remodel. Hope to have some luck with breeding in these. I used the 4 pack of smooth grey/brown in the Three Beacon tank. I used 2 of the textured style for my Bristle Nose plecos. They still seem to be ignoring them as there are already established hiding places in those tanks. I will remodel them in time and hopefully get some breeding going on so I can upgrade the 4 star to a 5. I'm confident they will be very happy once things settle in a bit. Will certainly reorder as time progresses. Very nice product that looks a bit more natural than the Terra Coda orange colored caves and pots.

My bristlenose pleco loves hiding out in here, its his safe place. He doesnt have a mate so im not sure how it is for breeding. Great buy

After a few days of adding to the tank our Pleco's have moved in and we now have babies.

This is hands-down the best and best looking pleco cave I've ever seen in my opinion it is worth it the size and space and the look if this product keeps selling I'm going to replace all my pleco caves with these
