ESV Study Bible, Personal Size (TruTone, Turquoise, Emblem Design)

I've purchased the ESV Study Bible in the standard hardback and the large print sizes. It's a great resource. In general, I really love the large print for extended study and use as a reference, but it doesn't have full color maps, etc. Honestly, I fell in love with the color and smaller size, and when Amazon offered it under $30 USD, I wanted to try it. I'm older and use reading glasses. Most of the time, I don't use glasses, just for computer work and reading. It is smaller print, but not as small as the compact size Book of Common Prayer/NRSV which is roughly a 6.5 point font (Bible portion). I have seen various sources saying that the Bible text and essay text is 8 pt; another source said 7.75. That sounds about right; I can manage with my reading glasses and proper lighting. The smaller references explaining translations are a challenge. But most of this I am able to read. For those with significant vision problems, this is not the one. This is probably the first Bible I've ever selected based on color. There are other Bibles in this colorway in the ESV translation with larger print and a smaller price tag. There is also a standard version in the same color, since this was more of a "fashion" color, I didn't want to invest more money in it. Apart from its aesthetic appeal, I think this is a fantastic resource for those seeking to delve more deeply into God's word.

This is absolutely beautiful! I ordered it last night and it was delivered before I came to work today. My only negative is that the delivery driver delivered it next door and the package was thrown over the fence. I'm glad it wasn't raining.

My new favorite bible! The perfect size. Easy to read. Nice size font. Commentary and study notes. Breaks down chapter and verse to give context. It's a wonderful study bible. Going deeper into God's word is easy with this Bible.

I love everything about this. Not only does this serve as a regular bible, but it also has pictures , summaries and explanations of each verse for study time. Super helpful for visual learners or for someone that needs more background information after reading a verse. This bible has a soft cover and a bookmark built it so you won’t lose your place.

Full of time lines, comparison charts, debated theological point of views, maps during different periods, character profiles and illustrations. The maccabees are referenced in some maps but its not an apacrypha. The book is well bound and sturdy. Only downside is the small print and margins are almost non existing. It's hard to find a comprehensive study bible with journal margins. I bought the evs study Journal bible thinking its same but it was missing a lot of the illustrations, maps, and charts that this bible had, but came the closest to having all in one. This bible is not the most compact (which is good thing for all it has) but its small enough to take along. All in all this is an excellent choice for anyone. Its helps to understand geography and terminology. Helps visualize and peice together concepts that might have stumbled someone that doesnt understand but moves along in the reading anyway.
