Assembly is straightforward although it is slightly awkward to screw in the brackets because the bracket braces get in the way of a normal cordless screwdriver and the holes aren't pre drilled in the wood. Not a major problem but a bit more "DIY" than metal bird feeders. I also fitted a plate on top of the feeder to tie together two of the "arms". This isn't essential but just adds a bit of strength in case our dogs decide to knock the whole thing over! The assembly took about twenty minutes.I had a small problem where one of the brackets was bent. It bent back but the paint had cracked. Riverside sent out a new bracket immediately. Excellent, zero hassle, service!Overall - pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

The delivery driver just left my parcel leaning outside my front door all day until I arrived home! Was not impressed as it was obvious there was no one home by doing that! It could have easily been hidden round the side of my house! The actual parcel came in a large box of parts rattling around but luckily also, nothing was cracked or broken. The assembly details are very basic but I managed to construct it alone in just under 1.5 hours. The actual finished station is of good quality and I'm hoping it will last a long while. I think it's quite expensive for what it is. Anyone with woodwork skills could easily make this using wood and hanging basket brackets. That is basically what it is. My advice to anyone buying this, put your Philips head cordless screwdriver on charge!! It will save a lot time. I hope the birds like their new toy!

We are delighted with our new Bird Feeder Station - good price for a quality product. We have had the metal ones for years but they never stay upright. This one looks so good and very sturdy so we ordered another one.

Spent this afternoon treating with wood preservative and putting it together.Nice quality wood and hardware. Parts fit together well but base of mine isn’t stable and wobbles which is a bit of a shame.Biggest problem , the hanging basket type brackets supplied are not like the ones in the picture, they are far too shallow to hang feeders on, why they would supply these is a mystery. They are unusable. I have mine all built and ready to go but now need to rethink how I can hang feeders from it. Such a shame.Also as others have said it is expensive for four brackets and approx ten bits of wood.I’ve given up on the pole type of feeding stations and really hoped this was solution. Back to the drawing board.

For:Very solid and sturdy bird feeder which looks nice and a lot better than the metal pole type that it replaced.Cons:Hangers for the feeders on the bracket are too flat/shallow and so I've come home several to find feeders have fallen off and landed on the floor. I've since bent the hangers more with a hammer and hopefully this will fix the problem.Every part of the feeding station has to be built, ie you're basically paying for pre cut wood and brackets, and whilst it's not difficult a cordless drill is recommended. Also, the inside screw holes for the brackets aren't easily accessible meaning that tightening these screws up is extremely awkward.

Great bird feeder. Could do with a couple of extra hooks up the base for water bowls but other then that it looks great and was easy to assemble!

It is elegant and well constructed. Unlikely to blow over in the wind. We are very pleased with it.
