Loved this story.
I fell in love with Chief and Sophie! Sophie has had to overcome her stutter and an experience with an abusive stepfather. She still stutters a little which just makes her more human. She has a heart of gold with no prejudice. Chief had started to forget his roots and their first actual meeting was unpleasant. Soon he realises he had judged her incorrectly and falls like a ton of bricks.I enjoyed getting an incite into Navajo culture. This story was hard to put down. Wonderful characters and a sweet HEA.

I wasn’t disappointed. I love Chief and Sophie
I received an advanced reader copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 8 in the Badge of Honor series and I was really looking forward to this book as Chief has featured throughout the series and I really wanted to read his story. I wasn’t disappointed. I love Chief and Sophie.Sophie has had a crush on the firefighter next door since she moved in but Chief keeps himself to himself and doesn’t really notice Sophie, assuming she has a boyfriend/husband anyway.Chief overhears a conversation between Sophie and her friends and a misunderstanding follows, once he realizes his mistake he gets to know Sophie better. They help each other deal with things that happened previously in their own lives, Chief grew up on and Indian reservation and Sophie grew up with a stutter that has got better but is still part of her life. When Sophie ends up in danger Chief realizes what he has to lose.I really enjoyed this book and loved reading about life on the Indian reservation for Chief as well as reading how different Chief and Sophie are but how well they fit together as well. You don’t need to have read the other books in the Badge of Honor series as each book is a stand alone with no cliff hangers ……but you should as the whole series has become one of my favourites. Enjoy :-)

Another amazing read from Susan Stokes!
If I could wish for anything it'd be the power to slow down time so that Susan Stoker could write the rest of this series in the next few days and hand it to me on a silver platter! How am I supposed to wait til November for Connor and Erin's book? And what about Squirrel and Blythe?? Or Quinn and Driftwood?? And the most anticipated... Moose and Penelope!!?Back to this particular story... I loved everything about Chief and Sophie. Chief had a quiet, confident sort of intensity about him and again, I love the fact that Susan Stoker doesn't write about "perfect" heroines. Sophie's stutter had at times been a barrier for her and made her the subject of bullies and, at one time, abuse when she was younger but she still didn't let that hold her back. Sophie was amazingly kind hearted and brave and Chief fell in love with those qualities in her. They really had a spark when they came together and the story was beautifully written.5 stars!

What ever the story , you find you learn about something you have my be never considered. This is yet again a great book. I hope you will read. Chief ( Roman ) has words with his neighbour after she cuts his grass and it's not thank you.Sophie works in a lab, but is over at the hospital dailey trying to help burn victims. But when she sees Chief again she's in even more trouble by " peddling her treatments".Can the pretty white blond haired woman calm the fire fighting Navajo?

Absolutely Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got my copy as soon as it was released this morning as I had pre-ordered it, and I started it as soon as I got up and didn't put it down till I'd finished it later today....I must say this 8th book in the Badge of Honor series, about Chief and Sophie didn't disappoint, I absolutely loved it, such an amazing story and awesome characters. It starts with an unfortunate misunderstanding when Chief overhears something Sophie says while out with her 'girl'friends which gets their relationship off to a rocky start, but once this is cleared up and they work to right that, their friendship blooms into a beautiful, gentle romance. Both characters have their own issues, neither of them are perfect, but together they make a beautiful couple and their love and relationship blossoms. As always Susan doesn't disappoint with this next installment in this great series and I can't wait for the next book to come out!!!!!!!!!!!

Heartwarming
I have been a fan of Susan Stoker for quite a while now and this book didn't disappoint. There is no violence, no cheating husbands, no murders just a beautiful love story between two lovely people with a whisper of myth and legend thrown in for good measure. It focuses on treating people how you would like to be treated regardless of colour, creed or position in the world and Susan highlights this so well

I love this authors books usually but this one was sickeningly ...
Couldn't finish this tripe! I usually love this authors books but this one was sickeningly hard to read. I was looking forward to this book as the premise had so much potential. With the two main characters being neighbours the author could have had so much fun with spats between these two while building up the love story. The hero was of First Nation heritage which added another interesting aspect to the story. Instead all we hear about is the heroine feeding the homeless and hugging a man who is mentally challenged. There was no end to her miss perfect personna. Really disappointed, It was lazy writing and felt like this one was just churned out for her publisher. Quality not quantity, if you have run out of inspiration you should stop writing for a while. I won't be buying another of her books till I have read the reviews first. This was a pre ordered purchase, I won't risk doing that again.

Not a bad book but a little disappointing :-(
I felt this story had huge potential but just didn't hit the mark for me.. I am a huge fan of all Ms Stoker's books but an disappointed with this story..I felt it dwelled a lot on Sophie being a gr8 friend with the homeless people and Chief was a little bit disappointing as a character for me, as I had really been looking forward to his story after meeting him in previous instalments.Overall not a bad book just not as good as I had anticipated r as good as other Susan Stoker books..
