Incomplete
Tried to use this book. I didn't find it very useful. It lacked practical information for navigating the country, just didn't seem in depth enough about the cities I visited and the maps were lacking. Ended up using tripadvisor and google maps to meet my travel information needs.

Came on time in great condition. I use Lonely planet guide on all my trips. It is extremely useful and has all the detail required for planning trips and while you are traveling. This addition also includes the country Liechtenstein, which was great because on our way from Switzerland to Germany for Oktoberfest we stopped in Liechtenstein (it is an adorable country by the way-worth a trip).

Very useful and easy to use Ebook
Travel guides are hard in the ebook format, but I really felt that LP did a great job organizing the info and adding necessary links to maps and outside sources. I love the use of images, which isn't always prevalent in ebooks. Overall, a great guide for my trip.

Looking for something different
While this book would be great for some one who is looking for an overview of Switzerland, I was looking for something more in depth. I was looking more for more in depth descriptions. Because I will be spending a month there, I was hoping for more ideas attractions that are not the norm for the casual traveler. However, this book would do well for the first time visitor or one who is not going to be there for a long time and wants to hit the highlights and must sees.

Not too deep, but OK
The guide covers the usual LP territory: larger city maps, places to stay. As such it serves its purpose. The choice of suggested restaurants is questionable - the guide suggests quite a number of chinese and thai places, rather than local fare. Also, if you're looking beyond a place to stay, and want to learn more about the areas you are going to stay, you'll be disappointed - most places are covered by a few standard paragraphs. Would really suggest the official "myswitzerland" website - it's way much better for planning

Good book - but needs info on places in France, Italy, Germany too
The book is well written and has lots of easy to use features. The insight into what to do in Switzerland, its history, its local quirks, seemed pretty solid to me, though we were holidaying only in one little corner of the country (the Valais) so couldn't really put the book to the test.My only gripe is that most of Switzerland seems to be closer to other countries (France, Italy, Germany) than to other parts of Switzerland. For instance, from the Valais, I am only 1 hour drive from Aosta in Italy, or 1 hour from the amazing tourist attraction of the Monte Blanc 'Skyway' at Courmayeur. But I'm 3 hours from Zermatt and the Matterhorn. So it would have been really cool if the book had covered cool things to do near to Switzerland as well as within the different Swiss regions.

Best travel guides
Lonely Planet are really one of the top travel guides and this version is no exception.... I wouldn't travel anywhere without Lonely Planet and planning independent travel and tours (never use agents), it's all I need!
