So far so good!
I only just got these today, but I know I might forget to review them so I'll give my first thoughts now while I remember and hopefully come back to update with more experience. For some context I have auditory processing issues and sensory sensitivity. My aim with these is to be able to reduce background noise enough to avoid sensory overload and to be able to focus on people talking/ listening to the TV etc more easily.I have already used Flare earbuds for a while and don't find they make any noticeable difference to what I'm able to hear, but do find that they make noises a bit less annoying if I start using them before I'm already becoming overwhelmed.I also use noise cancelling headphones (ANC) regularly but find that they can be too muddled for listening to talking etc so aren't always ideal. I also tend to find that even with noise cancelling headphones on I need to listen to music or white noise through them to have significant benefits. And wax ear plugs which are the most comfortable ear plugs I have tried but (as with most earplugs) don't discriminate with what sound they reduce and make everything sound muffled.Onto the Loop Engage earbuds...SOUND:They made a noticeable difference immediately after putting them in. The mute add ons also make a noticeable difference.Without the mutes I would say they are about half as effective. Sounds are reduced and softened/ less irritating. But I can still hear most sounds including air conditioning and the hum of a microwave. With the mutes in all noise from the Aircon unit near me was removed except for a soft fan noise. I'm barely able to hear most background noises, but am still able to comfortably listen to the TV at its normal volume. I can also hear and talk with people. With and without the mutes background noises seem less irritating and easier to ignore.Sounds do feel somewhat muddled, but nowhere near as much as with other earplugs and so far I'm not finding it gets in the way of hearing or understanding speech.FEEL/ SIDE EFFECTS:They do feel like earplugs physically. That will take some getting used to for me and they might not be something I'm able to wear constantly. But they do seem comfortable enough for a long meal out at least. As is to be expected with any ear plugs I am able to hear my own body more. Things like blinking, creaking neck, swallowing and chewing. Again it is a different type of experience, but for me it's definitely better than having really annoying background noises. They come with multiple sizes of earbuds and also two different materials (a hollow silicone type and a foam type). I appreciate that because it gives me some more options. I find the silicone more comfortable (they are also the only ones that come in xs), but it feels like the foam might do a little bit more to muffle/ reduce noise. They are easy to put in and feel secure in my ear. They are noticeable on the inside of my ear, but the ring part doesn't bother me at all. They are also easy to remove.OTHER:The inside of the lid has a QR code to a free lifetime warranty. That was quick and easy to set up.There is a manual underneath the case and earbuds that tells you how to use them and also gives some information about how much they reduce noise. They come with a carry case that feels nice and has a little loop for attaching to keyrings etc. They come with two different coloured mutes. I ordered the "dusk" colour options and have white and black mutes. They are kinda pricey I guess, but they definitely are providing me a unique experience compared to anything else I've tried so far. And the lifetime warranty goes me some confidence that they'll be a good long-term investment. After trying them out for a couple of hours at home I'm really excited to try them out and about. I feel like they could make a big difference to my experience at restaurants, the cinema, on public transport and on hot days where I don't really want to be wearing bulky noise cancelling headphones.I've been considering them for a while and putting it off, especially since my experience with flares wasn't exactly a game changer. I'm glad I did finally decide to try them. I don't expect them to be some miracle fix for my sensory issues and I don't think I'll be able to wear them all the time. But so far it does seem like they will at least make a significant difference and give me an extra tool to help with various situations.

Excellent earplugs, discreet and comfy
Love these earplugs. They fit securely and snugly. They remove the background noise but I can still have conversations in person and on the phone with them in. It is amazing how good they are! My only disappointment is that I need the xs earbud and there was only one set of those, whereas all the other sizes had 2 sets of earbuds. They are comfy in my ears and I don’t know I am wearing them after a while. Can wear them all day which is perfect. Good for a busy office and crowded shopping centre! I wanted these as they had the extra loop to go in the centre to block out more noise when needed. Excellent design and works brilliantly. So small and a lovely little storage case too, it is on my keyring so I always have them with me. Good value for money. Hopefully they will last a long time!

Flimsy case loop
Great earplugs, really help but can still hear people talking clearly. But the carry case loop is really flimsy, it snapped while on my keys and so I have lost the earplugs.

Not just earplugs
I finally succumbed to my friends' recommendation that I get some loops. I have autism and issues with noisy places, I find it difficult to think and eventually I will try and leave. It's not easy to do this if you're halfway through a meal at a noisy restaurant! There's a range of ear plug sizes - I ended up using the smallest and they fit really well in my ears. They don't come loose, and they're not like normal foam or silicone earplugs. They work really well. It's very difficult to describe - it's not as simple as turning down the volume, which I find is the effect of normal earplugs. It's like voices close to me are clear and surrounding noise is filtered down. The carry case is tiny, very easy to lose in a big bag so I'd recommend adding a lanyard or attaching them to your bag with a loop. I love them, especially that they come in my favourite green colour! They're expensive but worth it, in my opinion. They're designed so that they're very easy to place and remove. I'm not experiencing any pain and I've got very sensitive ears and (apparently) very tiny ear canals.

Perfect
So many extras with these ones. I love them. Tested out a few times in busy shops and places. These certainly do help to dull the noise and lessen the overwhelming feeling that can happen in loud and busy places. Still able to have conversations with friends without the background noise

Great design, functionality is hit or miss
In terms of looks they’re pretty subtle which I appreciate and they do objectively help to remove some noises (e.g. clock ticking, radiator humming, etc) but they’re not as effective as I hoped? I used them whilst at an event and music still felt just as loud (even sometimes felt more painful than when I didn’t have them in??) and when using them at restaurants I can still hear people chewing awfully clearly!! The little holder is really great so I can bring them with me everywhere easily but in the grand scheme of things they didn’t really seem worth the money I spent on them.

4th trimester life saver
Bought these for the 4th trimester as I obviously wanted to hear around me but the noise can be overwhelming. I used them for changing times when baby was unsettled and they worked so well just taking the noise down a notch whilst still being able to hear everything. I've recommended to my friends with colic babies too and they love them! Fit well and look cute. Definitely worth the money for me.

A nice idea, but didn't work for me!
I really wanted them to work, but they didn't for me. They muffle too much, I found. And also my own voice, which wasn't supposed to be the case with the Engage model. I also found them very uncomfortable in my ears. It's all a very nice concept, but I am afraid not at all for me. I will try the other simpler models to see whether I can use those just in very noisy environments. The idea of reducing city noise while keeping your own voice clear was very attractive, but sadly didn't work for me.
