Ugh!
Where do I start? This isn’t the first in this series I’ve read. I liked the others, but this one? No.First, junkies who are supposedly robbing a grocery store pharmacy for drugs just “happen” to have a bomb made with c4 and nails for shrapnel with them? Uh, no.Second, the siblings of the junkies are also bomb making experts with a lair and the skills to set trip wires, surveillance cameras, and an elaborate revenge scheme? Again, no.Third, Cheyenne’s sibling and mother were stock villains of the overdone variety. They were ridiculous and unbelievable characters. We learn nothing about Dude’s life or background, not even really how he ended up with the scarred/disfigured hand. And lastly, Dude is a Dom?? Uh, please warn people when your book has kink in it. I had to skip over all of that as it was repulsive.I wish I’d never bought this book. Blech, it was terrible. Also, if you read enough of Stoker’s books they become repetitive. I’d forgotten that, having not read any in a while.

Such a turn off!!!
What I absolutely HATED about this book was the hero's SM controlling crap!!! Not romantic at all! Yuck. I'm half way through and I quit.Finished it hoping one of them would get therapy and help the other. But no. A dominant and submissive and neither evolve. This author's writing is formula, but it was a formula I liked. I wanted to read every book she'd written. But after this hot mess, I WILL NEVER READ ANOTHER!The hero seemed like a man who would beat the crap out of her if she showed any gumption at all. The book even hints at anal. Bondage is big and one of the couples that I liked were getting on the bondage bandwagon, so the evil will spread and contaminate the rest of her writing.God is love. Love is irrestible. It doesn't need erotica or hardware. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't know what love is, especially Susan Stoker.

Too short - underdeveloped story
So, I didn't have as many problems with this book as I've had with some of Susan Stoker's previous books. I got a bunch of her books at a reduced rate on my Kindle, so I'm gradually working my way through them. To date, I haven't been overly impressed with her writing, but it's also not the worst I've ever read. So, for this story we have Dude (Faulkner) and Cheyenne. We weren't given enough background information on either character, so that made everything seem rushed for me. I like to really get to know both of the main characters. The fact that Dude (stupid nickname) became fixated on Cheyenne after their brief meeting really didn't make sense to me. I think this connection would have seemed more logical if it had been played out in a more normal fashion. At least for this story, Cheyenne wasn't described as an ugly, completely pitiable creature. This is something that the author tends to do with all of her female leads, for some inexplicable reason. While Cheyenne is described as nothing special, she at least has a normal kind of job and is socially acceptable (though far from self-confident). Dude's dominance issues were frankly underdeveloped. We have no idea what drove him in this regard. He claimed to not be into BDSM, but just that he liked to have complete control in the bedroom. Well, okay. It was just kind of weird and we weren't given enough background information to explain his thought process. So, in some ways he came across as a douche. In others, he just came across as being protective of Cheyenne. All in all, I enjoyed this story enough to get through it, but it wasn't one of the better romance novels I've ever read. There was nothing particularly hot about it, and most of the drama situations were frankly rushed. I think this author would be better served to focus on creating full-length novels so she can get completely into providing readers with character development for the main characters as well as the full development of their relationship.I didn't dislike either of the main characters. I just thought the whole story line was rushed. It would have been better served as a full length novel (so, an additional hundred pages or so).

Protecting Cheyenne
WOW! This was an intense story. Cheyenne is a 911 operator. Her job was boring, according to her but when she went grocery shopping, her life took a horrific turn. Give guys held up the store she was in and she kind of volunteered to be these guys message to the police not realizing they were going to strap a bomb to her. Now Dude is a bomb explosive expert so the police asked for his services. Little did he know that he was meeting his forever love. Cheyenne survived the bomb and these two started their relationship. As their relationship progressed, Cheyenne had to deal with her mother and sister. She finally disowned them when her sister felt sorry for the bombers and not her. Now, Cheyenne was finally feeling good about herself and her relationship with Dude and then it happened again. The family members of the bombers wanted revenge so they kidnapped her along with Summer and Alabama. They strapped 3 bombs to Cheyenne. Dude was beside himself - he now knew what his teammates were going through with their women. Cheyenne is hilarious when she is drugged. She has no filter and is a chatterbox. 😄 I am happy that she survived her second set of bombs. I am also happy that these two found each other and are working on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Susan! I would recommend this book.

Requires a Topic Warning
I understand that many people are curious, interested or active in BDSM activities. There are just as many, if not more, females who will suffer through their lives from real abuse and dominance trauma whether it's currently active or not. Yes, people can make their own choices about what trips their trigger in the bedroom and what they enjoy reading. But we should be able to expect that an author is dedicated enough to her readership to inform readers about touchy and dangerous subjects that can actually hurt people emotionally.

The suspense was palpable
Really enjoyed this installment of the Seal Of Protection series.Cheyenne works as a 911 call handler and is looked down upon by her mother and sister in all aspects of her life. When she stops in at a local convenience store she gets more than she bargained for when the store is held up and she's taken hostage. She offers herself up to the hostage takers in place of fellow hostages as,as far as everyone else is concerned because she's not married or has kids she's expendible. They strap a bomb to her. In steps Faulkner who is a bomb dispsoal expert to save the day. He's immediately drawn to Cheyenne and works hard to save her life. They start up a relationship and he shows himself to be a proper dominant in the bedroom. As their relationship flourishes there is danger awaiting Cheyenne. This read was great. The right amount of suspense and romance and downright hotness. I felt for Cheyenne because she was trying to look after other people when she offered herself up to her captors to have a bomb strapped to her. She was trying to save the other hostages and made to feel like she was expendable so when Faulkner turned up to save her and show her that she indeed does matter. When Faulkner shows his dominant side we see things really heat up with them and the dynamics of the relationship really flow. It was so sad how Cheyenn's family totally did not appreciate her and basically made out it was her own fault everything that happened to her. This was a very enjoyable read

Explosive....
Following the usual formula, Ms Stoker has delivered another great book in this series. Cheyenne is one of the cutest female characters in SS books I've listened to so far, and I have listened to plenty!! Faulkner is also a little bit different as a male character, which I found refreshing. He was still the alpha male, caring, sensitive and protective but SS has added another layer to him in regards to his private needs which was a nice touch in my opinion (if you are a stounch feminist, then this is not the book for you!!) Highly enjoyable book, well worth listening/reading.

Another brilliant read
Another brilliant read from Susan. Dude and Cheyenne are a great couple who are thrown together by extraordinary circumstances as the rest of the team were, but these get together flames burn for them and Cheyenne doesn’t know why she’s ordinary, boring and her job doesn’t seem exciting as all she does is answer 911 calls and help people at there most vulnerable but with dude and the team shoe her just how special and extraordinary she is, they’re life isn’t easy either for them both. Can’t wait to read more from this series

911 I need a SEAL
Shy has always felt like second best, nothing she has ever done has pleased her mother or her sister. she dreams of a better life one where she is loved respected and never lonely. she dreams of the military man she often sees at the local grocery store and wonders if he could love someone as flawed as she. He is a strong and formidable man and is wary of women especially as he has seem the way they recoil from his injured hand. She is soon in his arms but not in the way she wants but her life is dependent on his skill and determination. He has more than his work cut out when he has to rescue her more than once and he needs his team more than ever. Great team interaction These guys love hard and fast feel like I'm missing out in life these guys kiss like they are giving CPR WOW
