Great, reliable item. I’ve used it to brood two clutches of chicks which were kept nice and warm and cosy under this plate ☺️ It’s very straightforward to use and packs away flat so is easy to store between chicks.

Bought to get chicks from hatchlings to adults. Assembly-wise it’s plastic sides that you slot together and then you decide where you want to position the heat plate. Having used it, I now am confident I had the plate upside down - but it still worked fine for its purpose. In early weeks, as advised had the heat ok higher for them to keep warm and reduced week on week, at times quite drastically to get them used to the colder temps. It’s a good plate, it’s adjustable in position (flat / slanted) and digital temperature adjustment. I opted to run it slanted. Fun fact about it though - the chicks love to fly to the top of it, stand on it and s**t all over the top of it. I had to wash it and it came off, so I think cleaning is ok and I think will continue to work. I might update this review if I find otherwise. It was fine to get chicks through early spring in an outside utility room by the way.

Perfect, good value for money, easy to set up and control easily fit 5 chicks in possibly more. The adjustable height makes it good for growing birds

I have 2 of these and they do a good job, would recommend getting some thermometer on wire, I leave it under to adjust the actual temperature, 30 degree's is the temperature as it leaves the plate, if you want to know the temperature in the ground where chicks will sit and rest and want 30 you would set to 40. Enclosed sides helps keep good temperatures. Well priced
