Before buying this band saw, I had a cheapo harbor freight band saw (Pittsburgh I think, not the fancy Bauer/Hercules) which I had set up in a table saw config. When HF came out with the chop saw attachment for the portable bandsaw, it looked like an attractive upgrade but I realized that my band saw model would not fit. I strongly considered upgrading everything to the latest HF offerings, or going with something more economical by Vevor, but then I came across this Max XT on YouTube. I was very hesitant at first as this has very little coverage but I ended up picking it up at a discount on Prime day, with all the bells and whistles. This thing is the greatest tool on my bench right now. It will cut dime-sized slices of 3/4" solid metal rod, with a beautiful surface finish and very uniform thickness. I love the fact that I can leave the saw unattended to cut by itself and it has auto shut off. I also love the table saw attachment. Really happy overall to have this in my garage instead of the HF contraption, which with a saw ends up costing close to what this entire setup cost.

I almost never give 5 stars. That doesn't mean this isn't a great tool. I have only used it for a few days, but so far it's met my expectations for how a bandsaw of this type should work. I had a problem with the saw in that it was received missing the vertical cutting plate. This made it unusable as a table saw in the verticle position. I contacted the seller and after some back-n-forth with verifying my order, they shipped out the missing part and I received it within a week. That's great CS. It's a bit on the pricey side, but with the 3 included saw blades of various TPI it makes cutting different material easier to swallow. The manual and auto-shutoff mode which make it portable and real drop-bandsaw are plus too. Changing/installing the blade is pretty easy with the tension lever. Setup is easy too. My first use was cutting Z-flashing for our standing seem roof. 24AWG steel which I could cut 10 pieces at a time. Saved a lot of hand cutting and better results.

I am stunned by how great a saw this is. I can't see why anyone would leave a negative review. The features of this saw are fantastic. It is of high quality construction, has plenty of power, and cuts square both vertically and horizontally. I didn't buy the version with the vertical saw table because I plan to make one myself but it locks into a vertical position for cutting upright. It also has an LED work light, a strong cast aluminum base, and an AUTOMATIC shutoff! Yes, the saw shuts off at the end of the cut. I am so glad I didn't let the poor reviews sway me. This saw clicked all my boxes and goes way beyond with its many features. Take a look at the smooth finish on the cuts in my photos. I am coming from one of the ubiquitous 4 x 6 roll around metal bandsaws and have put up with years of rough cuts. This saw is going to really be a pleasure to use.

I was little disappointed in the build quality the clamping assembly was borderline horrible very cheep.it had some good points I did make a vertical plate for doing vertical cutting.i will have to use it a bit and may alter my review after further usage .after further usage I stand by initial review, I could’ve gave it four stars but I did knock off a full star on the clamping because it just seems so ridiculous. I do like the trigger mechanism in the fact that you can lock it in position.. It does cut well and I’m not sorry I bought it overall I’ve been pleased.

I had been looking for a benchtop band saw for some time and saw these. So far this is an Excellent band saw. With all the features (variable speed control, auto stop, etc) and the base being solid with wheels it's far and above anything else in this category that I looked at. Everything else seemed to have a flimsy stamped steel base. So far this is cutting great through steel and aluminum stock. Only improvement I can see right now is the protractor for setting an angled cut... it's fine if you want "somewhere in the neighborhood of angle XX degrees". If you want to save stock when making angle cuts, you still have to resort to angle blocks or other method for setting the fence and stock. That's a minor thing as none of the others I looked at did any better. But if improved on the next model would send them another leap above the crowd.

This brand has some serious quality control problems. The first two saws showed up with parts missing and the 3rd had a blade pulley so out of round that the entire upper frame would flex! Not sure if I want to give them a 4th try... I think I lost enough time on projects with this one.

this saw is great-cut reasonably fast -cuts straight-lots of power-I have had occasion to cut 1" solid round bar stock, 2 ' square tubing and lost of angle iron-handled everything well-nice to set it cutting and then do something else in the shop-the flip up screw works well and makes large size changes easy & fast.Over all like the saw

Es muy sólida, robusta, estable, la velocidad variable es una delicia, el paro automático es de gran ayuda, compre otras sierras de repuesto mk morse y no las he utilizado, normalmente no uso los consumibles con los que vienen las herramientas (sierra de mesa, ingletadora, sierra circular, sensitiva) la sierra con la que viene es de muy buena calidad, llevo varios proyectos de cortes precisos y la sierra como si nada, es silenciosa y no mancha las paredes con proyecciones como las sensitivas. No la he usado sin la base pero no la compre para eso, la tengo en una estación de corte, no me guío con la escala para calibrar el ángulo de corte, recomiendo calibrarla con un par de escuadras de calidad. En fin una vez que pruebas un equipo como este no hay manera de que vuelvas a la sensitiva de disco abrasivo por presicion-rapidez-bondades como la vel. variable y el paro automático-bajo nivel de ruido etc Totalmente recomendada!

This saw is wonderful, it cuts almost anything effortlessly, clean cuts and minimal sawdust/metal or plastic chips. I cut 20 pieces of wood for a project using the saw horizontally and each piece is exactly the same length, the blade doesn't "walk or wander " when I used a jigs for repetitive cuts. Also the auto shut off is perfect. I have just fitted the table to it for vertical work and I am also very pleased.

Esta máquina de corte salió muy defectuosa estos días que empese a utilizarla me di cuenta del defecto que tiene se sale la cinta de corte cuando estamos cortando el material. Y por último se rompio la cinta de corte.

Bought mine in December 2024...I don't use it every day or even every week but out of interest I kept a count... 246 cuts. Same blade. From Rebar - 1" x 1/8 Angle - 2" x2"x1/8" and 1/4" square. - 3/4 solid round - 2" x 1/8 steel tube and numerous other bits........ Now.. this is something I wasn't planning on.... 2x4 Lumber and 1X3 Lumber and some other bits.... Same blade.....I am working on a home reno and have a Mitre Saw, used it for years and put up with the dust even with a vacuum attached....... With this, Ok it may a few seconds slower than the mitre, but I am not on "piece work".... virtually to nil dust... Maybe after decades of working with machines I have "machine sympathy" or maybe I am just "lucky"... but compared to some friends and neighbors, my tools, equipment, and vehicles do seem to last longer and be less troublesome .... This band saw is not a high volume commercial machine, it is not designed to be... it may be a little slower and requires more TLC than a tool designed for every day commercial use...but quite often machine failures of all types are down to the users.....
