Does what it says on the tin
This is a great bit of kit, at a good price.I bought it has I needed to increase the size of the boot drive, a M.2 NVMe SSD, in my PC. I used this device to connect to one of the PCs USB ports to transfer the original image of the disk using Samsung Magician. It worked a treat, when I installed the new SSD in the PC it booted up straight away with no issues. This device now contains the original SSD which I'm using for temporary/portable storage.I already owned a UGreen product, a USB Multifunction Adapter. I was so impressed with this product that when I needed a M.2 NVMe enclosure I looked no further than UGreen.

Quality !!!
I own quite a few UGreen Items and have always thought of them as a Company who makes Well Built Quality Items and this Card Reader is no different

Portable USB NVME
My motherboard only has one NVME slot and as I have just added a larger NVME stick I now have a 1TB NVME doing nothing so this enclosure is rather useful.Installation is simple, though it is not a tool-free installation as advertised on the store page as you do require a screwdriver (supplied). Simply unscrew the small screw on the enclosure and slide out the main section, then install your NVME stick and screw it into place. There is also a thermal pad to attach to the NVME stick which is supposed to assist with dissipating heat but I still noticed that the enclosure got quite warm under load.Using the supplied cable (with a USB-C to A adapter) I had quite disappointing transfer speeds (40MB/sec). I'm not sure if this was the adapter causing the issue or the cable itself. However, when I switched to another cable that did not need an adapter my file copy speeds increased to around 500MB/sec. I am fairly confidident the cable used is capable of faster speeds so I would suggest the speeds are not quite up to those advertised.Even though my transfer speeds are far below what the NVME can do I am still quite happy with it as it still provides SSD copy speeds which will be fast enough for my purposes.

Great little device
Upgraded the M.2 drive in my laptop and used this to clone the data onto the new drive. Now I have the old drive in the enclosure which I use as a removable storage drive.Very fast transfer speeds via USB C too

Overheats at 50%-60% of full data rate
"ERROR: ... crc32 mismatch in command"Brand-new SSD, data-integrity failure on the wire owing to interface overheat. The SSD is rated at 3.5 GB/s minimum, which is probably around 35 Gb/s, whereas the actual data rate through this thing was 5-6 Gb/s.In other words, the SSD shouldn't even be breaking a sweat, and the access light's occasional lazy flashing backs that up. Meanwhile, the interface is running at more than 50% of its 10Gb/s capacity. The final proof: taking the cover off improved reliability.
