Fire Lite Alarms BG-12L Dual Action Pull Station w/Key Lock

It came with a key. It is an intelligent choice for a fire alarm. I would buy 1 million of them.

Activates fire alarm

The BG-12L is the key-lock version of the regular BG-12, which uses a hex wrench. Other than that, this review applies to most other models. The BG-12 is a fairly good pull station. All parts are made of plastic, which makes it lightweight, but it also seems like it would break easily if struck accidentally. The dual action pull operates smoothly (Meets ADA standards) and activates with a audible clunk. When activated, the pull station displays a yellow stripe across the top of the handle that says "ACTIVATED" which can be seen from a distance. Additionally, a small plastic tab extends from the bottom of the unit when activated. The unit is rather hard to reset. After unlocking the station with the supplied key, one must pull rather hard to open the station; it feels like you're breaking the station when you open it. After opening it, the handle snaps back up to the normal position and the switch can be reset by hand, or simply just by closing the station and re-locking it, a nice feature. When closing the station however, you have to press rather hard and make sure both the top and bottom of the station are closed after locking. A feature on this pull absent from many others is the braille instructions molded into the handle. Additionally, pictograms are supplied on some parts of the station to assist in operation and reset. A pretty good pull station for the price overall, but if you need durability in your device, you may want to purchase an all metal pull station such as the BG-6, also from Fire*Lite, or a different all metal device.

Easy to install: open the cover, back out the two screws, identify the wires, and carefully one by one remove a wire from the old box and match it to the new box. Four times the charm and reinstall the pull box with two screws, lock the box, turn the power back on and give the system a couple minutes to reboot and just like that BOOM, you are done!! This fire alarm pull station model BG-12L uses a standard Allen key for opening and resetting, so you don't have to worry about losing a special key that will never be found when needed. The fire alarm pull stations in the buildings of our condominium were made of metal, had been in place for 40 years and were all rusted and welded by the rust. None of them were working by now. Installing these new stations was very easy, because the screws are in the same place as in the old ones we were taking out and discarding. It seems that this is a standard and it helps a lot that it is. Model BG-12L is made of durable plastic and will stand some outdoor abuse much better than the old metal stations we had before. This is an excellent product, sold here at a very good price.

This particular product has been rejected by California fire inspection. Therefore , this is not recommended to buy any Californian residence

Very good comes with Key and manual

This is a great pull station because first of all it is much easier to open than the normal bg-12 since it comes with a key instead of a hex lock. Also it is really easy to connect the two sides back together if they seperate. However be careful because this pull station can break easily if you drop it and the key is very easy to lose.
