Better than the competition!
You can see actually large pieces of mushrooms in this. Unlike others where there are just flakes of mushrooms. I've made this with both water and cream and it's wonderful either way. For a real authentic German flavor, go with this... Forget the competition. This is the next best to making it from scratch!

The taste I remember!
My mom was German, and I remember she used to make a Hunter (Jager) sauce for Roladen and a few other German dishes. Growing up, she always used a mix rather than making it from scratch, and I remember we used to buy it in the grocery store. I remember that distinct taste and I haven't seen it in the grocery store in years, so I was happy to find this on Amazon, albeit a bit pricey!! But the taste is exactly as I remember!

Love this brand
Used to use the Knorr, but our local grocery store does not carry that brand. For me, this exceeds the old Knorr version. This one is less salty. We use it in place of steak sauce or Worcestershire. It is not at all sweet or sharp. You do have to like mushrooms a lot to enjoy. I can see using this at Thanksgiving and Christmas to improve turkey gravy or for open faced beef sandwiches. Might try it for my next pork roast. Could go well with egg noodles or rice with some sauteed vegetables. Would also be good for pot roast, but you would need more than the regular amount. When I prepare it, I use slightly more than a cup of water (look for the 250 ml mark on your measuring cup - or use about a cup and a quarter of water), then add two slightly generous tablespoons of the mix. I also stir in a bit of butter to taste. Use a small sauce pan and a whisk over low/medium heat. Simmer and keep whisking until the sauce thickens. There are dehydrated mushrooms in the mix and they have to soften before serving. It yields about a cup of finished sauce. (the mushrooms absorb some of the water. ) If you are a real mushrooms nut add a little mushroom powder or sliced sauteed mushrooms. Getting hungry just writing this. Enjoy!

Ich kenne die Jängersauce schon länger, aber da ich stark gehbehindert bin, bin ich auf solche Angebote angewiesen und bin froh darüber, zumal ich nicht mehr bezahle, wie im Geschäft. Der Geschmack ist hervorragend.
