7 Mighty Moves Reading Resources: Ready-to-Use Tools and Templates to Transform Your Teaching

This is the best book on teaching reading that I have read. It is not only for beginning readers; it has resources for all elementary grades. It is a great addition to her 7 Mighty Moves book. It includes lots of ready to use templates that can be used in whole group, small group, or 1-on-1 sessions. There are lots of word lists for fluency, word chaining, and phonemic awareness. There are goal trackers too that are fun and game based. I definitely recommend purchasing this book! It is a great buy.

As a first grade teacher myself, I love this new book which gives practical ways to implement the 7 moves needed for primary teachers to shift thinking and practice from balanced literacy to being based in the research of how students actually learn to read and write. There are so many items for each of the 7 moves that can be implemented immediately in a classroom. Lists of words by phonics skills, planning templates items that could be used in small groups or literacy centers, to name a few of the gems in this book! I highly recommend this book to anyone working with children on foundational reading and writing skills as well as comprehension and vocabulary.

I was excited for the release of this book. It is a perfect companion book to The 7 Mighty Moves. This book is user friendly and gave me so many immediate, easy to implement ideas for bringing the science of reading to life in my literacy block. I love the fact that Lindsay is in the classroom and her suggestions/resources are classroom tested with her own students! Thank you for the work you put into this book, Lindsay. It is going to be one of my favorites!

This is hands down the best book on teaching reading I have ever read. It is an absolutely necessary addition to her 7 Mighty Moves book. It gives explicit quick and easy directions along with premade templates you can use in both whole group and small group immediately. She includes sample lesson plan templates as well as tons of sample words lists, organizers, word cards, goal trackers etc. This is definitely a must buy book!

This is a MUST-HAVE resource for Classroom Teachers, Reading Specialists, Literacy Coaches and Administrators who want to make actionable change to support students' literacy development. The explanation of each mighty move and the following resources are so accessible for teachers that they will immediately be able to put them into practice - i'm talking next day practice! 10/10 highly recommend!

This new reading resource book is an amazing companion to the 7 Mighty Moves book. It takes the research behind the science of reading and shows teachers how to apply it to practice. The templates and explanations are quick and easy to implement. Great job!!👏👏

This is a great resource. It's well-organized and easy to follow. This is a good resource to use after reading 7 Mighty Moves. I'm happy with all the classroom suggestions, games, word lists, and reproducibles offered in this resource. I like that I will be able to begin using this immediately. I can't wait to begin implementing in my second grade classroom.

The book is invaluable to teachers! Highly recommend the content. That said, the print quality of the book is horrible! Areas not clear, gray tones are crap, creases in paper. Scholastic should be ashamed of the print quality!

K-3 classroom educators who have read 7 Mighty Moves (if you haven't read that one yet, you should!) will appreciate this companion book with 320 pages of resources to support the 7 moves in the classroom. Lindsay Kemeny knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be to search online for resources, without knowing if what you're finding is even effective, and has filled this book with helpful word lists, picture cards, lesson plan templates, student worksheets (games, assessments, practice), reference cards, short texts and so much more...and you can rest assured that it aligns with the science about how students learn to read!

Love the book but there are 4 pages that are blurred. I am not happy receiving something that was just released and should not have this mistake.

Page 45 is not only blurred but mine was also ripped. It's still readable and usable but disappointing for such an expensive resource.
