Circle of Fire (Prophecy of the Sisters, 3)

Amazing!
I LOVED THIS! Aaaaahhhhhhh!Michelle Zink nailed the ending to this trilogy. Her writing is as beautiful as ever and the characters are wonderful, just wonderful!I loved seeing Lia come into her own throughout this trilogy. She has grown an incredible amount throughout the books and by Circle of Fire she's a woman. She has faults and you see her overcome them; most of all her ability to trust in others and deal with herself. We get to know more about Alice and her point of view about things, which made the book all the more interesting.Dimitri. Pure sexiness. I liked his addition in the previous book and in this book I loved it. He's so swoon worthy! And he respects Lia and he LISTENS to her. He doesn't try to be the boss. He's there for her without telling her what she has to do. Now that there alone makes me love him! Nothing is worse to me than the love interest growling and scowling because the heroine isn't doing exactly what he wants her to do. By the way, I don't think growling or scowling is even mentioned in this book. Thumbs up for that! The romance throughout the book is just the right amount for me. It's consistent without being overplayed and it stirs the emotions. There are some sexual scenes in this book; I found them gratifying (!!!!!!!!!!!!)... I could see that others may not enjoy that though.Overall, just a perfect ending and an exciting read. I laughed, I cried. In fact I think I was almost on the verge of bawling towards the end. That Henry! Such a sensitive subject for me!Circle of Fire was totally worth $9.99. Or in my case 900 swagbucks that I saved up to convert into two $5 amazon giftcards!

A Read Worth reading
Nearly five years ago, I brought the first two books of the world of the Sisterhood. Acquiring the third however, wasn't meant for me yet, not for another five years but I never forgot the story. With an Amazon gift I won, I finally brought the book and for days I reread the two books I own, and plundged into the third. As a writer myself, the author inspired me years before to write, and today, its still the same. Her story inspired me. Her characters were real, strong but with faults and that in essence is what makes us human. I'm awed by her techinique and the collosal work she had put into writing the story. This to me, will always be true. The book ia worth reading, that I promise you.

Best in the series
After reading the second in the series "Guardian of the Gate" I wondered if Michelle Zink could top the way everything pulled me into the story and made me feel like I was truly there watching everything happen to each character. With Circle of Fire she has done just that. The story pulled me in with the first two chapters. Everything that happened in the book felt right and it ended so well that I felt satisfied with an amazing story told by a wonderful storyteller.Definitely looking forward to more books from Michelle Zink.

Great Ending but maybe too rushed
Now for people that have not read the other two books...... You must before understanding this review. Now the story is a struggle of Lia and the other keys. I for one is a fan of the series. Alice was really surrounded in this story like how she felt jealous and envious of Lia. And of course Lia is unaware like most US with sisters. Now the ending itself was depressing and kinda makes me wonder what happened to Alice. Like if she went to the void or went to the forth world, but what kinda rushed was how fast Lis snapped out of her "Samuel is the best and I'll rule the world with him." It even took Dimitri longer to get to wake up. But overall I loved the ending and GOOD job Michelle Zink.

Some sad moments, mostly intriguing moments
This was such an interesting story. Some sad moments, mostly intriguing moments. Wonderful story of how twins are truly opposites! I found it very enticing. Had to read the entire Trilogy. Couldn't wait to see what happens next!

Great book!
I purchased the first book in this series at a school book fair not realizing it was a trilogy. Purchased this and 2nd book for a Christmas present for my daughter and ended up enjoying them as much as she did. It's a great read, but you do need to start with the 1st book and read them in order.

Great read!
The whole trilogy is great! I loved how her personality is so well portrayed. You really get to know the character and the struggles she is going through both physically and mentally through her journey. Shows the strenghts and weaknesses love can bring; whether its the love of a friend, family member or significant other!

Brilliant concept, mediocre excecution
I am reviewing this book after having read the entire trilogy and what I say goes for all of them. The author had a really, really great idea, very compelling and highly original, as well as a writing style I can best describe as haunting. But I think she failed to deliver the truly great story that this trilogy could have been.At the core of the story is a pair of twin sisters that are the focus and instruments of an ancient and eternal battle between good and evil. They are supposed to work together to fulfill an ancient prophesy, but they find themselves choosing different sides, each making a surprising choice, basically taking on the other's job. At some point they discover a connection to a hidden magical community, living in a cloaked island, a society quite set apart from their own world (Edwardian New England).Frankly, this community was the main probelm of the story. It was reminicent enough of "Mists of Avalon" to sound derivative, and therefore unoriginal, but it was not a direct reference to the Arthurian tradition, so the reader did not get an immediate recongition of it. The result was to have the watered-down description of a faint copy of an Avalon-esque society that was familiar enough to be boring, but not familiar enough for the reader to connect to it. This might have been adressed in a much longer trilogy, where the author would have time to describe this society with detail, but, as it was, we ended up with something that felt like a pastel drawing of an oil painting; pretty enough, but weak, pale, without vivid colors or depth. This is a great pity, not only because the core idea (the twin sisters, the ancient prophesy about them) was brilliant, but because the story and the characters outside this Avalon-lookalike place were very well drawn, charming and compelling. I cannot help but feel that it would be much better if the author had resisted the foray into Arthurian legent and stuck with the "real" world. For the rest, the story was quite well-written, but I confess certain repetitions grated on me. The most annoying one was the constant use of "even still" in place of "even though". English is not my first language, so I am not sure if this is grammatically correct, but as it appeared too often to be a typo I can only assume it is. But even if it is grammatically correct, it was used so often (practically in every other page) it got on my nerves.

This is part of a series of books all of which I highly recommend. The book arrived within a couple of days and was in good condition

exciting & as thrilling as the first 2 in this trilogy
the momentum was kept up throughout the novel & you have that feeling that you want to know how it ends but on the other hand you don't want it to end.
