TAPO wireless solar camera
Great camera! This camera arrived well packed and on time. The instructions for installation and setup are very clear and the process is relativily easy. The installation is as should be expected, requiring ladders and basic tools. The setup is extremely easy with the TAPO software. I have TAPO controlling multiple devices in our home and the software is very stable and user freindly. After several months of use the camera is working perfectly. The night vision is incredible as well as the daylight video. The sound quality is very good and the video detail is great! Now that I have satisfied my shake down of this camera I am purchasing two more. I highly recommend the product.

The perfect residential camera
I purchased a set of these to replace a bllnk outdoor 4th generation. In every way these Tapo cameras are superior.I reside in upstate NY where we do not get much sun. With the attached solar panels the cameras have never dropped below 95% power. Confident that it will always be powered, I have set the cameras to the highest quality/highest sensitivity.I love being able to customize each camera as to whether/how much to sense/alert me to people, animals, cars, and general motion. Keeping the general motion detector off has prevented the false alerts I used to get on my Bllinks from bugs and trees.The cameras were easy to set up and install. We have standard 4 inch vinyl siding and the base fits perfectly horizontally on the vinyl; I just had to be certain which direction I wanted the solar panel when positioning the base.There is almost no lag time from motion to detection to notification, my personal tests have shown mere seconds from activity to notification. (This was a huge issue with my Bl!nks, which could often have a delay of more than 4 minutes!!!) Not sure if it makes a difference: I ran the bllinks through the hug whereas the Tapo is being run without a hub.My favorite aspect might be that I do not pay for a subscription nor a hub. The onboard sensors have accurately determined the difference between a person, an animal, a car, and bug/tree motions, and you can use almost any capacity SD card.

Ditching Googles cameras and going with these.
Replaced a Google nest battery camera with this. For the the price of the camera including solar panel, can't beat it. Quality And features are superior to nest. 4 stars for a few issues. When battery is completely charged, solar battery information states solar panel is not connected which is incorrect. From my investigation, when the battery is 100%, the default information is this message. The second issue is that it is not working on the Home app despite stating it does. A window appears with the cameras information but no feed. Perhaps soon?

Best security system I've found.
Night vision, live and charging are a breeze.. really the hardest thing was getting the solar panel right for all seasons (over hangs suck, gotta put it at the edge) and angle perfect for anything. Otherwise.. resolution and clarity ate top notch. This offers Ring paid plan benefits at no cost. The only thing paid is live monitoring and extra storage (cloud) otherwise everything is looped and local. Accessible, any time anywhere connection permitting.

Service and customer care do not work.
I gave 1 star because of the service and customer care. The cameras worked well for the trial period, i had even ordered some for my home as well. I ordered the cameras for my mother who has breast cancer and was scheduled for surgery. Did the 30 day trial for cloud service, seemed like it was pretty good so I did the annual subscription for cloud service for her on April 4th because she needed to see the coming and going of the people working to transform her housefor after her surgery. The service did not work, it would give notifications but wouldn't record so she could see who was on her property. Contacted customer care and they couldn't figure it out. I asked for a refund of the $121.89 that I paid the following day so that i could replace them with something that worked for her. they told me that the payment was pending and no other payments would occur. I did not understand the "exta payments" as I'd paid for the year. I sent them documentation that the payment had fully processed and let them know i needed a refund for services I couldn't use and that I would be retuning the cameras. They told me that it was pending and that I needed to wait and they would contact me the next business day, that was Saturday the 5th of April. Monday April 7th I emailed them about the refund as I still couldn't use the services, and they told me it was still pending despite having proof that it was processed. Tuesday they told me that there service is OK and I needed to check it. I was not home as mother was having surgery in a different city. I informed them again that I'd already initiated the return and needed that refund. They informed me that I would not be getting a refund for the annual cloud service because now the service is working despite not using it. This is the worst experience for my mother who I informed them of why I purchased them for her in the first place (elderly disabled with breast cancer). I paid for a service that they did not produce when I needed it and now I am out of $121.89 because they said they are keeping my money. I waited to give my review to see if they would rectify the issue, they only made the experience worse.
