Berserk: The Golden Arc Memorial Edition [Blu-ray] [Region A & B]

While I adore the 1997 Berserk adaptation, this new adaptation is my favourite as it brings the story to life in a beautiful and unsettling ways. Brutal, savage, beautiful, and unforgettable.My wife is 43 years old, never seen anime, doesn't really care of the genre, but fell in love and obsessed with story of Guts, Griffith and Casca. The series has stuck with her and it's one of her favourite pieces of media. That's how incredible the story is!

Ok so none of the Berserk anime are great, it’s mind boggling to me how the best manga ever created can’t get a proper anime adaptation. So this Memorial Edition is just the 3 Golden Age movies from a few years ago divided into episodes with some new content added, there seems to be 44 minutes of new content.I already have the 3 original movies, but I bought this anyway as I try get everything to do with Berserk, and it’s hardly having the entire series together. And out of all the Berserk anime this has the best animation style, although it skips so much stuff from the Golden Age arc, so please just read the manga before you watch the anime.They used the image from the second movie as the image for the inner box, although they changed Casca from her wedding dress to her armor for some reason, I’ve added a picture of both boxes side by side.So if you love Berserk then you should just buy this, it might be difficult to buy this again, as it can be difficult to find some of these Bluray later.

This is a must watch for fans of Fantasy . The fact that it’s Anime isn’t really a factor, although it is a great gateway into Anime if you’ve not watched any before . Great story, great characters . I don’t think I’ve rooted for a character in any franchise as much as I rooted for Guts (protagonist) . Enjoy 😁

Picture is fantastic and it's great that it has the original voice cast dubs for Guts,Griffith and Casca.Any true fan of berserk this is a must have.

SpoilersIf the original 1997 Berserk is a 10/10 I would give this a 6.5/10 overallThe story is very rushed compared to the original with a lot of character development missing but I will say the animation is much better although the scenes that held emotional weight in the original don't hit as much hereI did like that all the battle scenes were better and the eclipse was good tooGriffiths character arc was good and he seemed more devious in this compared to the originalAnd it's great we got skull knight and a true ending in this oneWorth a watch but isn't as good as 1997 version

This edition to berserk is properly the best version since the original series its almost perfect. If you have seen the 2012 to 2013 berserk movies the golden egg arc then this edition adds on to them versions. The original series covers the most of berserk from the manga so i recommend that one or pick up the manga where as the movies cuts alot of it out to fit the runtime of 3 films . So it feels a bit rushed like constent action not enough time between each battles This edition adds to the movies where some scenes have been added back in which are important and some scenes have been corrected so they look better more detailed. The original series is still the best version of berserk because of the amount of content you get so the closest to the full story from the manga and the original score still holds up to this day. This version is a step in the right direction it improves upon the movies by giving you some new scenes which slows the pace down and gives you more time with your favourite characters and makes more sense it adds over 20 minutes of new footage . Definitely a version for hardcore fans and for fans who have seen the movies and wanted more hopefully one day we will get a version of berserk that doesn't cut anything out and covers all the manga but until then this version and the original series will do just fine for now
