Very nice and lead free according to Waterford themselves
After purchasing this I was getting advised to not keep liquor in this for any length of time at all because of lead content in the crystal. I was preparing to return it because that defeats the purpose for me. I contacted the Manufacturer directly with the item number and bar code to check to see if in fact it contains lead. here was there answer: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Waterford Barware item. Being able to supply the item number was very helpful for us to be able to answer your question. We are still in transition from a leaded to a lead free formula for so many items. This item number lets me know that this is one of our new lead free decanters." Waterford is transitioning all of there crystal to a new crystal formula that is lead free and expect to be completely free of lead by 2023. This item according to Waterford has already transitioned to the new lead free formula. They could do a much better job of presenting this information but I'm glad to discover that this doesn't contain lead.
