Good stain
Initially I didn't like this. I tried it on the underside of the table (unsanded and unprepped) and it looked like paint rather than stain - a dull thick grey. But when I used it on the properly sanded prepped table top it was a lovely colour. Other reviewers say it's thin - it is, but that's the nature of stain. It's not meant to be paint. If you want it dark and thick you'll need to use a lot, but if you want a nice grey stain, with the different wood tones coming through then this is good stuff

Excellent & Easy to Use
This is a really beautiful stain. I would say that the colour in the picture is accurate to the end result. We used it on our floors and found a little goes a long way. We did two coats; the first would have been absolutely fine, but we wanted a deeper colour, and to ensure that the colour was an even as possible on our mixture of older floor boards. We have more than enough left over to do another two rooms. The stain was easy to apply, the instructions we're easy to understand. We actually used a mixture of cloths and brushes to get the desired effect and it worked great with both. We've then topped it with a satin varnish to protect it; the stain looks rich underneath and we couldn't be more pleased. We would recommend, and not hesitate to buy this colour/brand again.

Not Duck Egg Blue.
I bought 250ml of what was allegedly duck egg blue. It arrived in time and well packaged, but it was and is not duck egg blue, it's a cornflower blue. It's clearly labelled as Duck Egg Blue. Because paint sometimes changes and because this is one of those allegedly eco friendly paints, I gave it some lassitude until application.Exactly like in the previous detailed review, the colour was not the same, does not absorb well. It's just finely powdered acrylic in media. You have to stir it often to get an even coat that has a consistent finish. I also tried to sand it back to get the more stained look and got lots of blue powder that just sat on the surface of the wood. You can get an effect like on the photos of the product with two very thin coats on a perfectly prepared surface, I hope you have years of painting and decorating behind you, like I do. You'll get fingermarks and overpaints show. Absorbs differently over wood-filler. even if you apply it very thinly and sand it back completely, even the residue blocks the paint relative to how it absorbs on the rest of it, forcing more coats, obliterating the grain and you just get a solid block of acrylic paint. But one that is not hard wearing and just rubs off on contact if you don't invest even more to seal it in. Other stains from before, as indicated in the other review absorbed fine and had varnish in them to protect the colour.I also notice that they do not offer Duck Egg blue any more, clearly because of complaints as the batch got old and turned cornflower blue. I already notice another stain I had my eye on in the strong colours has also been withdrawn, so if you get a certain kind of stain and might want to get more, it's pot luck with this maker if you can get it back.I was willing to pay extra for a woodstain in duck egg blue. I instead paid extra for some kind of paint powder suspended in a medium that does not absorb well. You have to use all your skill to get a half decent or competent finish and you'll have to invest more to seal it and protect it anyway. I already know from experience that might paint might continue to change in colour as it ages and getting the same colour back is uncertain, because this is clearly some sort of work in progress.I also know what colour I wanted, did not get it, and only found out it was not as labelled only after several applications and a consistent blue with no seeming green in it at all, as you'd expect in a duck egg blue.I feel that selling to me from that batch and then getting rid of it from sale shows intent. I do not feel confident in this brand and would rather spend that extra on competent woodstains that look like as advertised.I can work with this and am, but it's a small item, I'd never paint a large area like a door that gets heavy use, given how lacking in endurance this stain is, as well as you need to seal it and protect it and the wood anyway, because fingermarks and stains are just as likely, even more so with the powdery finish.

It's very good
This is my new favourite wood stain. It comes in a bottle ready to pour and is the same consistency as water, but its water based so what else would you expect? It goes on easy and the wood soaked it up quickly. I was worried it was quite dark but after leaving it to dry for an hour, the colour was right.I will be buying more colours and considering purchasing the outdoor stain.

Super product and helpful support
Super product which looks brilliantI rang the supplier for some help and I must say they spent a long time talking me through exactly how to get the best out of the product and advised of other items they sold which I purchased from the website. I can’t remember the last time I used such a friendly and helpful company. All of the other items I purchased were brilliant too

Good stain probably bad wood
Seems to be a good enough stain, I'm not terribly happy with my result, but I think that's more down to the type of wood I'm staining than the stain itself. I've done 3 coats now and some of the original wood is still showing through despite sanding. Its much darker than I originally would have liked but I may still add one more coat to see what happens. I would still give this stain a fair rating because I do think it would stain another wood well.

it has given a lovely finish and I am delighted with the results
This is very thin and item you are working on will need two coats. However, it has given a lovely finish and I am delighted with the results. It is important to prepare the wood properly and get rid of any old varnish. I didn't do this as well as I should have done but it has still covered ok and I really love the two tone effect it gives of the grey colour with wood showing through. I put a clear wax on once dry just to protect it, as the instructions suggested..In my view an excellent product and good value with clear instructions.

Darker than the picture
The french grey do not look like the colour shown on the advertisement. It's much darker. I had to buy again to get the colour I wanted. A bit disappointing and costly for me. But the paint itself is fine.
