Phenomenal laptop
Had it for a couple years now. Still boots up in like 1 second. Enough storage for a laptop. Love the black on red. I really like the dedicated fans for each the cpu and gpu. I’m still able to play almost anything(including Fortnite and Warzone) with the rtx3050. 17.3in screen so you know it’s pretty heavy. Love this tank.Oh yeah, this thing for some reason runs games better than some of my friends similarly aged towers..

Rocks alll kinds of stuff. Super awesome
I go this 10 days earlier than originally posed. Its doing great. I upped ram to 32 and added a 2 tb ssd in the 2nd slot (easy to do both, search nitro 17 upgrade on YT). I run heavily modded Skyrim and I create mods also, plus this laptop is a home for retro game preservation, so this laptop is amazing.

Honest review: Great gaming PC and workstation.
Honest review: Great gaming PC and workstation. This has played every game i installed and played on high settings from star wars battlefront to PUBG. No issue with online play or solo games. Fan is not as loud as some say, but you can notice it in a quiet room. Only comes on during heavy gaming. The double push/click power plug is a little annoying at first but you get used to it. No double click no charge. Great graphics with game play and did not have lag when playing online. Yes the PC will have to be charged out of the box, this is due to lithium battery regulations for fires on planes/shipping. Over all great purchase for the price.

A good gaming computer but not suggested for business purposes.
This is a well made computer mostly for gaming. The image is good, not great. sound quality and volume is poor.. To hear anything i will need aux speakers. Keyboard is convenient but seems slow to load pages. I eliminated many apps upon start up but has not helped much with speed. Its loaded with a lot of apps which bog down the system and some of which you cannot delete. Keyboard is excellent and great backlit keyboard.for gaming I guess it would be fine, but general computing, business, drawings, engineering, etc I would suggest looking elsewhere. Its surprisingly heavy and not suggested for travel at all. OK for home use.for my purpose, which is business and drawing review and design, video conferencing it falls short.

I got a lemon. Returning and eagerly awaiting a second (functional) unit.
UPDATE (22 March 2022):New unit arrived yesterday and started up perfectly. As for a laptop, it's perfectly functional. The design is nice, the keyboard feels nice (trackpad takes some getting used to clicking), there are enough ports for the peripherals I use, and it's run older games for 5 hours straight with negligible heat. I haven't tested the webcam and microphone yet.I don't play new or graphic-intensive games, but this ran very well on older games (Team Fortress 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Magic the Gathering 2014) and some newer ones (Deep Rock Galactic). I plan to run Halo Infinite and Outer Wilds later this week and expect it to perform well.I will keep this updated as my time with this computer progresses. 5/5___________________________________________________________________OLD REVIEW (20 March 2022):TL;DR - I'm sure the laptop is great but the one I received is defective (can't charge - motherboard issue). I am returning it to Amazon and have ordered another one, as I'm sure a functioning unit will meet my expectations for this product. I will update my review when my second order arrives. As for now, 1 star for defective product.I wanted a budget gaming laptop to replace my retired ASUS G55VW (2011). I chose this model due to its strong specs for a budget device, including an RTX 3050Ti (midrange for graphics cards in 2021 but supports the burgeoning ray-tracing technology used in current games), Core i7 CPU, 1 TB SSD storage, and 16GB memory. I also chose this because I wanted a 17-inch screen. The price point maxed out my acceptable budget range (~$1200).I believe this laptop is a good choice for me considering these specs and the price, and I look forward to trying it out.HOWEVER, the model I received appears to be defective - I believe I got a lemon. Upon unboxing, plugging the charger into the laptop did not illuminate the 'charging' light on the laptop, even after trying different electrical outlets and surge protectors. I took it to a local computer repair shop and the tech confirmed the charger itself was functional, as his voltmeter reported 19+ V. Upon opening the device and testing it, he concluded that something was wrong with the motherboard that prevented charging (I am unfamiliar with computers and cannot relay the significance of what he said).I filed for a return-and-replace with Amazon; they accepted the return but denied the replacement - likely so I couldn't keep both laptops and run. The laptop is currently repackaged and I will drop it off at UPS for a return in the next couple of days.I immediately ordered another unit, as this model was my first choice. I expect the second product to work just fine and meet my purchasing expectations, and eagerly await its arrival. I understand defective products are produced and shipped as a natural part of the production process, and do not consider this representative of Acer. While I'm sure the product will meet my expectations, I am saddened to receive a defective model. I will provide an updated review when my second order arrives.
