A joy to type and game on
WOW, a fantastic keyboard. I love the simple look of this keyboard and the basic white lights. It is not too over the top with colours and looks just smart. I looked it to the different cherry keys and decided on red or browns. This came up in the sale and I went for it. I'm really pleased with the browns and they are not too noisy, although are a little bit louder than standard keyboards. I have ordered some O rings to see what difference they make, but they haven't arrived. The software and programmable lights/ keys are also very good and user-friendly.

Great product, despite disappointing Logitech software
Great gaming keyboard, it's good for typing despite the fact it's quite loud when typing, but this was to be expected as these are brown switches. Great feel, heavy, which really translated into quality. Lighting is very cool and accurate. One drawback is the Logitech software, sometimes when I switch the lighting off using keyboard keys, software will not catch it and I need to disconnect/reconnect the USB to make the light come back on. Also, despite setting up custom profiles, sometimes the keyboard does not set the lighting automatically the second you open an app or a game, sometimes I need to manually start the software for it to realize the profile should kick in.This is not an issue with the keyboard, but with the software, but thought future customers should know about it. It's easy to fix it, but it's sometimes annoying having to disconnect USB or reset the profiles.

Premium minimalist backlit keyboard
I got my Logitech G610 keyboard from the Amazon Warehouse. It was a used “damaged box” item. It appeared to have been resealed but the box had minimum damage. As for the keyboard, its a lovely solid item. It’s noticeably heavier than my old Microsoft Comfort Curve keyboard but, as I use at the same desk everyday and don’t travel with it, it’s fine and I find its heft reassuring. The cord to the USB socket is braided, so it has quite a premium feel to it.I think the keyboard looks great. It’s quite minimalist, so great for someone like me who wanted illuminated keys but didn’t want a huge garish block on my desk. The illumination is limited to white, so don’t buy this if you have your heart set on blue, red or other glows. The main letters are in the centre of the top half of the keys and illuminate brightly. Alternative symbols on the bottom of each key are faintly lit. There’s a large illuminated “G” in the top left corner and I initially thought it was a bit pointless. However, I soon discovered that it's great to use as a guide when changing the brightness level. The advantage of Cherry Brown MX switches is supposed to be that they are quiet, however this keyboard is a bit clunky and noisy when typing. it’s not a big deal but could be a deal-breaker for a room where other people are trying to watch TV.I happily binned my battered old Microsoft Comfort Curve model with it's stick-on key labels, because the letters wore off. They keys on the Logitech G610 have integrated letters and will never fade. The keyboard has the minimum of media keys with a volume roller which works well with Windows 10. I find it far more convenient and quicker than having to press a button and wait for it to reach the desired volume. To get the most from keyboard, you need to install the Logitech gaming software on your PC. That allows for finer control of the illumination levels and to change the patterns of illumination. You get the option of different effects, including light-wave, breathing and fixed. When you first power the unit on, it runs light-wave which looks cool. However, I just wanted to see the keys in the dark and switched to fixed. Before my purchase, I was concerned by reviews stating that this keyboard suffered from coil whine. I looked into this and found a question on the Logitech site asking if it was normal for this model of keyboard to suffer from this. The answer from Logitech was that it was not. That sealed it for me but I did have suspicions that, by buying from the warehouse, I would be receiving someone else's rejected whiny unit. Fortunately, there is no whine whatsoever from my keyboard - no matter which level of brightness I have it set at or how I set it (I saw a post from someone saying that he had a workaround for his by using the Logitech gaming software to set the brightness level and that stopped the whine). I fail to see how this would be a "feature" of a keyboard and it getting past the design stage at Logitech. None of the over 100 reviews over on the amazon.com site mention any whine from the US model. If you get one that whines then it's faulty and you should send it back without delay.Overall, this is a great keyboard. I would have struggled to justify buying it for myself if it had cost more than the £70 I paid but could be worth more for gamers who will benefit more from its additional features.

The perfect keyboard for the casual gamer who still wants a top-end experience
If you're not bothered by having RGB on your keyboard, save a few quid and go for this. Cherry MX Brown switches mean you get a tactile feel without the loud click you'd find on Blue and Green switches. If you have already used a Cherry mechanical switch keyboard, then I can't add much more than that. They are the best in the business, and the G610 is no different. The style is subtly stylish, and of course the LED backlights have plenty of gimmicks with the software Logitech provides. Other nice little quirks include the accurate and satisfying volume scroll wheel (upper right corner), and the tactile media keys. You get no dedicated macro 'G keys' here, but Logitech allows you to change the function keys into G keys in the software, and you can customise this for each game to be different.Overall, it's a near-faultless typing experience, thanks in no part to the Cherry switches, and this keyboard is perfect for a more casual gamer who does a good mix of gaming and typing documents. If you pivot more to gaming, consider a model with dedicated macros, or get the Red switches - they offer far quicker spamming for competitive games.

Avoid
Bought this to replace my cheapo keyboard. I have been looking for a new keyboard for a while that I could use for light gaming but have been put off by those ugly Gaming keyboards with lots of keys that I'd never use. This has nice adjustable backlighting (but no silly RGB) and feels nice to type on - and at a reasonable price too.EDIT: Downgrading this as the 'D' key already worn on my keyboard. I do light gaming but I wouldn't expect this wear in such as short time.Edit: 20 months on and two keys have stopped working. Avoid.

The quality is great at it has a pleasant weight to it
Got it at a bargain price of 75 pounds (sold by Amazon). This is all I could wish for from a keyboard. The quality is great at it has a pleasant weight to it. Typing on this keyboard is a blast and easily best experience I have had with a keyboard in years. Nice suprise for me was that it interfaces with a game Smite and has a reacts with it's lighting to what happens in game (e.g. flashes when the match starts). I also find myself utilising volume wheel quile a lot. All in all I think it's the best logitech keyboard in the lineup. It's a shame that they did not use cherry switches for their RGB version, otherwise I would probably went with that. It looks nice none the less. (Photo attached)

Not configurable on Mac
The the Logitech Control Center software does not recognise this keyboard and leaves you stuck with the default backlight setting, which is very distracting.
