WORX WG163.9 20V Cordless Grass Trimmer/Edger with Command Feed, 12" TOOL ONLY

I was naturally concerned that I would experience the battery mis-match reported by others, but my Worx drill which came with two batteries uses the same type and fitting as the Trimmer I just bought. No problem. Nor do I understand comments that no suitable batteries are available in the UK. Anyway, I'm very happy with the product so far. If it performs like other Worx products (I have two) it represents good value for money. I guess as long as you can easily return it in case of battery problems, I would definitely recommend trying it.

..not sure why Worx offer this in the UK based on their "Powershare" philosophy. In general I like Worx stuff, and they are my "go to" DIY powertool company. As I already have their drill I recently opted for one of their cordless hedge trimmers as I checked and was advised that despite being quite old my drill batteries would fit. On the back of that i then ordered the above cordless strimmer as it looked really nice and generally had good reviews. As I already now had 3 batteries I asked Worx if they could source me a "bare" unit, (ie no batteries). When it arrived it was a bit disappointing to find that although advertised as a "power share" tool the batteries I had are not compatible??? Not sure why they would do this?? But now have the pain of sending it back and looking for an alternative!

Bought as a bare unit in the uk to use with other power share batteries. Arrived quicker than expected but uk batteries do not fit. In fairness to amazon, it does state that US specs may be different to those in UK but I did not expect that to mean the battery as without the battery, the unit itself is useless. UPS wanted nearly £60 to return to US for an item that cost £68 and Amazon policy will only consider refunding £20. I did contact Amazon customer service who let me keep the unit for disposal and refunded the full amount. So 5 stars for speed of delivery, 5 stars for Amazon customer service and 1 star for the unit because it does not work in the UK with UK powershare batteries.

I’m not happy at all about the miss information. I bought the worx strimmer because it clearly says clearly (power share) and same battery. I got the strimmer and the 20v battery and charger bought online separately from Amazon and they don’t fit together. I tried the battery of my Landroid mower and still the same.. does not fit!! There is no notice what so ever about this difference in the product advert or your website. Very misleading!!!! There is no adapter or different battery to Buy!!!

This strimmer suggests that it is compatible with the batteries for lawnmower - the 20V Plus. I bought it thinking I was being clever as I already had the charger and two batteries. It arrived and after thorough investigation of booklet post assembly, it is not. To add insult to injury, the batteries are only sold in the States and now no longer made. Spend the money on the strimmer that comes with the battery pack is my advice! Really disappointing.

Purchased this item body only as I have several brilliant Worx cordless toolsGuess, so I don't need batteries. Took a month to be delivered,with prime. My worx universal batteries do not fit this item,Amazon should never have sold this item in UK. Guess what? Amazon couldn't give a toss. Still no sign of refund. Keep away from worx tools delivered from USA.

We have lots of worx PowerShare tools and love them. Turns out this is made for the US market and the batteries are different. So frustrating! Now we have to faff around with getting it returned and need to find the UK version!

Don't buy unless you get the one with the batteries,not the same spec as uk ones,cannot use uk batteries on it,costing £54 to return nearly same as the strimmer.

Not for Indian garden grass. If you return this item, 1500+ ( tax) will be deducted. This does not have a blade it is a string to rotate fast and may cut only bermuda grass with small rise. This is a STRING CUTTER NOT BLADE.

Ichhatte mir vorher die neue Akkukettensäge von Worx gekauft und dabei 2 mal 20 Volt Akkus dazu bekommen, aufgrund der Werbung, dass alle Akkus zueinander passen, habe ich mir den Rasentrimmer für 20 Volt Akku bestellt. Die Akkus von der Säge passen aber nicht bei dem Rasentrimmer, es gibt einen Adapter, aber nur umgekehrt, dass alte Akkus in die neuen Geräte passen, ich hatte aber nur neue Akkus, die für alte Akkuhalterungen nicht passen, da der Preis sehr gut ist und eine Rücksendung nach USA mir zu blöde war, habe ich mir selbst einen Adapter gebaut, für die Fehlinformation deshalb nur 1-nen Stern

Light weight blower and trimmer. I like 👍. Blower sir flow is good anf trimmer works good.

This is my second Worx trimmer. I also own the corded vacuum/blower, and a lid to put over a yard waste can that hooks up to the corded vacuum/blower allowing you to vacuum up leaves and mulch them without carrying a heavy bag on your shoulder. Honestly, I have to say I am super impressed with that item and I am impressed with this trimmer. My first Worx trimmer lasted about 8- 9 years before the battery started to lose its power. It was a great trimmer and I struggled between buying a new battery or just getting a brand new trimmer and I am glad that I bought the new trimmer. This one is just as good if not better. Much much lighter than the original. The two extra batteries are awesome. I can literally finish my entire yard with one battery. I also like the edging function, although the original Worx trimmer was much easier to use as an edger, because the wheels were in a better area, and seemed to allow for better balance while edging, but this one still is a pretty decent edger. You just have to get it in the right spot and it really makes your lawn look a heck of a lot better than if you didn’t edge. We don’t use any chemicals on our lawn whatsoever, so it isn’t the most beautiful lush lawn but when I mow and edge, it looks fantastic. The automatic feed button seems as if no extra line is being pulled out but upon inspection, it really is. No, it’s not going to be wonderful if you have a huge lot and are trying to weed whack very tall and thick weeds but if you have an average size lawn that is not covered in a ton of super thick weeds, then this is really all you need. It’s certainly not like a gas powered edger, but works fabulous and you don’t have to deal with a cord which is even better. The replacement line is very easy to install. The original one I had was a pain in the butt to install the line because sometimes the spool would unravel in your hand and just would be a pain in the butt as a lot of trimmers have this issue. I also think they still honor their old “free spools for life” program in which all you have to do is call them up and spend eight or nine bucks for shipping and they send you 12 spools (I think it is 12). I don’t really have anything bad to say about this machine. I do think that the charger for the batteries is flimsy but if you store it properly, you shouldn’t have a problem. I guess I just like their tools and they work for me. I’m glad I bought this and I’m sure when I need a new one (hopefully not too soon) I will buy the same brand.

Excellent performance from this trimmer. I bought this to replace an older unit, also Worx, that lasted for years and was still working. I bought this as it has two lines instead of one. What a difference! I Highly recommend this trimmer!
