A very capable drone for the price
What a great little drone this is. I bought this as my first entry into the drone hobby and I have not been disappointed. The drone is sub 250g which gives you the freedom to fly in more areas than larger drones. It has preset quick shots to allow you to take professional looking videos such as circling a designated point or flying up and away from a point to give the effect of zooming out. It has optical flow sensors on the rear of the drone which allows it to sense where the ground or objects below are but it doesn’t have the all round sensors that some pricier drones have, bear this in mind if you are flying this in wooded areas. I managed to expertly pilot my drone into the canopy of a tree one day, thankfully it survived the ordeal unscathed which leads me on to the build quality. The drone is built out of incredibly lightweight plastic but it still feels well constructed and robust, the legs secure well into the unfolded position and no part of this drone feels cheap. The gimbal is responsive and the picture quality very good for the price point. I have attached a video of raw footage from the drone to give you an idea of the picture quality. In summary this is an incredibly capable drone which competes with other drones way above this price point. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you buy this.

Amazing piece of tech.
This drone exemplifies the advances that have been made in tech over the past few years. Relatively inexpensive, light (less than the regulatory 250g for registration), and oh, so stable. Controls are simple to learn and configurable to your preference, and the app is fairly intuitive. Works well with Samsung S22 Ultra attached. Picture quality is superb. Battery life more than adequate, shame they are quite expensive though. Overall, this does exactly what I need it to do, which is a little bit of everything. I've had one scare with it. Taking an extended family outdoor photo, I ascended the drone above the treeline, not realising how windy it was. The wind caught the drone and I began to lose control. The display warned me to lose altitude in order to regain control, which I duly did. After a few tense moments, the drone managed to make some headway back to where we were and landed safely. I reckon the wind was approaching 20kts, so well outside its design limits. Lesson learnt!

Best drone I’ve ever had!
Best drone I've ever had! This is the most affordable easy to use and amazing picture and video quality camera. Super easy to control and super durable even in rain (but I wouldn’t advise to use in the rain) easy to connect with the app and great signal would definitely reccomend.

The best budget drone in the world (probably)
Over the years I’ve had cheap model aircraft including helicopters and found them frustratingly difficult to fly. I looked at various drones on YouTube and it was clear that cheaper drones all seem to have ‘issues’ such as poor stability or mediocre cameras. The DJI Mini 4k seemed to be the exception. I’ve now flown mine several times over the past few weeks clocking up approximately 10 miles flown, and have been amazed. The drone is well built and so easy to fly. The video and photo quality is simply unsurpassed for the price. The controller is solid and precise, and the built in safety features (ability to set height and distance, return to home) just provides an overall confidence boost in the equipment. Although the Mini 4k is under 250g you must obtain an Operator ID from the CAA (£11.13 in 2025 and renewable annually) or you risk prosecution .The CAA also advise getting a Flyer ID which is free valid for 5 years. This involves a short course and a test requiring an 80% scores (it’s pretty basic stuff and you can retake as often as needed). There are proposals to make Operator and Flyer IDs mandatory and the introduction of Remote ID for all drones over 100g from Jan 2026 - the CAA website has more information. Overall, a great piece of kit and highly recommended.

The perfect drone for beginners.
Amazing little drone, took this up to the legal height limit of 120m to get some pictures, wow I’m impressed, not only is the camera quality good, buts it’s very stable and isn’t much effected by the wind. The return to home feature is brilliant, it’s very accurate and lands pretty much where you take off from. Overall I am very pleased with this little drone.

Great Value First Drone
I got a really good deal on the DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo, which was my first foray into drone life. I did not want to spend more than this on a drone just in case it all went horribly wrong - which it almost did when I managed to fly the drone into my fence on its maiden flight. The drone was really easy to set up and once I had figured out how to fly it without crashing into fences, was a load of fun to get in the air, and it is amazing what you can do and see with this. The Fly More Combo allows you to swap batteries for extended flying, and purchasing or making a landing mat will help you land your drone without mishap. The only weakness with the 4K model is that you miss out on the automated modes such as obstacle detection and programmable flight patterns, but what you gain is the ability to learn to fly drones without these safety nets. This drone is quiet, stable, and for its size, pretty resistant to wind. This is great fun, and a superb tool for surveying as both photos and videos are clear. My only caution is watch out for gulls when flying your drone - they might not like it as much as you do.

The DJI Mini 4K is, in essence, DJI's strategic answer to the budget drone market, successfully upgrading its popular entry-level airframe with a crucial feature: 4K video recording. This drone is aimed squarely at first-time pilots and travelers who demand cinematic results without the professional price tag or the regulatory hassles of heavier aircraft. The biggest strength of the Mini 4K is its sub-250g takeoff weight. This crucial detail means that in many regions (including the US and much of Europe), it can be flown recreationally without mandatory registration, making it the ultimate hassle-free flying companion. The 4K/30fps camera delivers sharp, stabilized footage that is a significant step up from previous non-4K entry models. The image quality, supported by a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, is impressively smooth and suitable for social media or personal projects. Flight performance is robust, with up to 31 minutes of flight time (in ideal conditions) and reliable Level 5 wind resistance, holding its position surprisingly well for such a small craft. Its suite of QuickShots (automated flight paths like Dronie, Helix, and Rocket) makes capturing complex, professional-looking clips effortless, even for a total novice. To keep the cost low, the Mini 4K makes a few calculated compromises. The most notable omission is obstacle avoidance (OA). It only features downward-facing sensors for landing assistance, meaning pilots must rely entirely on visual confirmation and skill to navigate around trees, walls, and other hazards. This lack of OA means the pilot must fly defensively and attentively, which some users argue forces them to become better, more cautious flyers. Furthermore, it uses the older DJI O2 video transmission system, which offers a reliable 10km range but is not quite as robust or capable of the high-definition live feed (1080p/60fps) seen in the newer, more expensive Mini 4 Pro's O4 system. The DJI Mini 4K is arguably the best value 4K drone on the market for beginners. It provides the core DJI experience—unbeatable portability, rock-solid stability, and high-quality 4K video—at an incredibly accessible price. It’s perfect for the photographer, vlogger, or traveler who wants to dip their toes into aerial filmmaking without committing to a premium machine. If you're willing to sacrifice the advanced features and tracking modes of the Pro models for sheer affordability and excellent basic performance, the Mini 4K is an outstanding first drone.
