These do not stain my ears and the balls are not falling off. They are very pretty X3 I prefer these over the usual butterfly back earings. I also appreciate the thicker bar so the jewelry is less likely to become warped. These are more comfortable compared to usual earings because the bars are shorter and the balls don't create a stabbing sensation if you sleep on them. I would definitely recommend these. I got these for my second lobe piercings, and wanted something minimal though customizable. These fit the bill, and the colors go well with the rest of my earring collection, so I'll be able to match and coordinate.For those struggling to get the backs off when they first arrive, I found out that stubborn backs will come off if you use a rubber jar opening cloth (those cheap round ones). Grip the earring head between your fingers with one hand (you might have to pull your sleeve over your fingers so your finger oils don't cause the stud to slide), and use the rubber jar opener with your other hand to gently twist off the back. I don't have two jar openers, but that would probably work even better. I was able to get all the backs off of mine with this method.

Well made & beautiful! I use them only for ear lobes so I can’t comment on cartilage piercings, but they’re perfect for an understated look. And the comfort while sleeping is amazing. It’s a bit difficult to screw on the tiny ball backs but it gets easier with practice.

If you have thinner lobes or general ear cartilage than me they would still be excellent earrings though.Despite the size issue they are relatively comfortable for short term wear. I found that by the end of the day they were agitating just because they were so snug on me.They did not bother my skin and I am allergic to nickel and have sensitive ears

The jewelry itself looks nice once in, but since the screw-off back portion is nearly a perfectly round sphere, they're very difficult to attach/remove. It also makes it hard to tighten them well, which puts them at danger of falling out if you're intending to keep them in for swimming, showering, sleeping, etc.If I had the option of purchasing these again, I would opt for something with a flat back where the front attaches. Slightly harder to put the bar through the piercing from the back, but holds together better in my experience.

You definitely get what you pay for. Some of the synthetic opals were misshapen or not centered and one pair had the balls screwed on too tightly to remove. The darker colors also look more like gems than opals. For the price I can't complain much though and even getting a few wearable pieces for so cheap is fine with me.

Man, I read the reviews that said they'd be hard to put in and I thought "How hard can it be?"HARD. The balls are internally threaded, and they're slippery little blighters. I dropped them constantly and lost two. Some of the balls are extremely hard to remove from the earrings. I bought these for a double frontal helix piercing and by the time I got the suckers screwed on, my piercing was bleeding. No one else could help me either.Now that I've been wearing them for a couple months, I like them. I'm sensitive to nickel and I have not had a reaction. The posts are a good length. I had to tighten the balls after the first few days but not since then. However, make sure you REALLY like the color you put in, because you're not going to want to change them.

LOVE THESE so much! However, was disappointed by not able to unscrew a pair of the ONE I really wanted to wear. It's sooo tight that I have tried different ways to unscrew it, but not a budge. I think it was produced incorrectly. Nonetheless, the rest of the pairs are easy to place on even with long nails. As always do not attempt to place them in while being over the sink, you will loose the back piece. I WISH THEY DOUBLE CHECKED THERE PRODUCTS BEFORE SENDING THEM.
