Classic Hits (4 Chord Songbook)

my dad has had a stroke & isn't that well. he found this to be fun & enjoyable. just a bit difficult enough so as no to be distressing.

Good book to lubricate the Memory for chord transitions although very quick and tight on some songs still an enjoyable book. A good mix of songs.

I fully agree with the two earlier reviewers here, with regard to it's suitability for a beginner, that it is clear and so easy to follow once, that is, the chords are fully mastered and that shouldn't take too long as only the easier chords are shown. But it is a start and gives an aspiring guitarist the confidence that comes from being able to strum along to a known hit song, and which may well prove the catalyst to go on to bigger and better things such as jamming with others or forming a group with school chums etc. which is the early route of many of the well known bands of today.I do have three issues. Firstly, the book only gives words and chords with no music at all, and chords and word information is readily available on the internet, for printing out at no cost. Secondly, I was disappointed that more numbers were not included, for what you pay I was expecting more. Thirdly, it would have been useful if a Chord Conversion Chart, viz. if say 'G' chord was preferred as the first chord of a song then what would the other three chords become?It would be most helpful if the name of the songs included in compendium music books, were part of the vendors advertising information on Amazon and elsewhere, so we knew what we are buying prior to deciding to purchase and not for the first time when it has been purchased, delivered, and played - it's a bit late then. Somehow I doubt whether this will ever come to pass.

I bought this book for my young son who is just beginning to play the guitar. This book is excellent, as it only needs knowledge of 4 chords to play all of the tunes, it gives the beginner confidence and a real feeling of achievement very quickly. I would highly recommend this book for beginners.

I have bought loads of books from Amazon.So easy to play the Guitar.I don't know all the Songs, but there is always songs you will know. These books are fantastic to teach you to play Guitar

Simple chords great songs

Despite all songs being only four chords I'm finding some of them quite difficult but thats probably because I'm trying to run before I can walk. Quite a good selection of well known songs for anyone who has advanced beyond the three chord song book which I found rather simplistic.A good buy for the competent beginner.
