Pros: It connects quickly and makes it super easy to use Android Auto. We typically have to tap a button on our car's infotainment screen to open AA, but this device skips right past that, and opens AA almost immediately upon starting the car. Cons: 1) It's glitchy. The sound skips for a fraction of a second from time to time. If you're listening to spoken word, it's not that noticeable. If you're listening to music, it can be annoying. 2) It's difficult to swap users. If you have more than one person that wants to connect to this, it's possible, but it's a pain. It's easiest if just a single user claims it and anyone else uses a cord.

I'm not gonna lie, I was skeptical of this at first, but the reviews and some good ol' internet research seemed to indicate that these do work well. There wasn't a whole lot of info on whether or not it would work with aftermarket radios. I bought this back in February for my wife to use in her '13 Wrangler. I had installed an aftermarket custom fit Android radio in it because I didn't feel like fitting a crappy aftermarket dash bezel, and we both thoroughly enjoy Android Auto; problem is, AA tends to hog on your phone's battery with aftermarket radios that don't fast charge, so this was the hopeful solution. I tried setting it up with her phone, but couldn't figure it out. The directions are...rough. I tried updating it per the instructions, and still couldn't get it to start Android Auto even though it was connected. I just assumed it wasn't going to work with aftermarket radios and wrote it off, and put it in a drawer in the garage. Fast forward to today, I started working on my neglected Subaru that has a Sony XAV-AX100 in it, with android auto, and got a bug to try this thing again. Messed around with it for a few minutes and almost gave up until I REALLY tried deciphering the instructions again. HERE'S THE KEY - you have to connect to the device with both Bluetooth AND WiFi - the instructions were not clear about this! Sure enough, Android Auto was working wirelessly on an aftermarket radio! Tried it on the Jeep, and that works too! With that in mind, I'm happy to give this a pass, even though it's not easy to figure out. It may or may not be easier on OEM radios, I haven't tried one yet, and I was honestly keeping this around on the chance that we might buy a car at some point that didn't have wireless AA. Well worth the money!
