501 Spanish Verbs, Tenth Edition (Paperback or Softback)

Everyone learning Spanish needs a verb book and this is the best. Comes with excellent descriptions of verb tenses conjugations and uses of those conjugations and introductory sections. A must have.

This is an excellent book. The book contains the full conjugation table of 501 model verbs. In addition, it provides (a) some quick comments for their meaning(s) and use and (b) synonyms and antonyms for the model verbs. At the end, the book contains an index of many more Spanish verbs so you can associate each verb with the right conjugation table. In fact, the index is Spanish-English, meaning that it also gives you the translation of the Spanish verb. And, in fact, the book provides an English-Spanish index too. That is, if you know an English verb and you are looking for its Spanish counterpart, this index will help you translate it and send you to the right conjugation table. Of course, you should not expect that the two indices contain all possible verbs; they contain just the most used verbs in Spanish and English. Besides the conjugation tables, on pages 1 to 58 the book contains a quick review of grammar related to verbs. I am not very enthusiastic about this part. I believe that it could have been written much better but I am willing to forgive the authors since this just an extra and the strength of the book is the conjugation tables. The production of the book is on decent quality of paper. Although not on the most expensive paper, it is not printed on the cheapest paper either. That is, the paper is not the cheap mass-production paper that you will encounter in most dictionaries. Also, the size of the fonts is big and you do not need any effort to read it. Finally, the text is printed in two colors (black and blue) and not just black which would be very boring.

Great book!!!! I recommend for those trying to learn Spanish on there own to purchase this! It helps sooooo much!

This is the 10th edition of the book. The first one I bought was the 5th edition. This edition continues as an excellent resource for the most used Spanish verbs. It also has an excellent section on Spanish grammar which is very easy to understand. I teach beginning Spanish classes and use this book a lot. I also recommend it to all my students. Add this to your Spanish library or buy it to begin learning Spanish.

This is very comprehensive. Will be good for beginners for composition. Very please for the purchase.

As a gringo living in a Spanish-speaking country, and having locals in my home every day, I am referring to this book at least four or five times a week. If not more. Time and time again, I've needed to turn to it in order to get a particular tense for a particular verb. As I commit some things to memory, there's always a new verb to master. It makes my life as a new resident of a country speaking a different language far easier.

Sometimes you just need to look up a conjugation. These days you can find any word you want to translate online so dictionaries have become obsolete-- but you can't so easily find this! Somebody gave me an old cat-pee-smelling edition of this book and I couldn't stand the smell so I was happy to see it was still in print. It is a very large book- it was nice if they could make it a bit more compact, but I wouldn't want to reduce the number of words (I had another similar book from Beritz but there were often words I needed that weren't in there, I have not had that problem with this one.

A must have. I’ve had earlier editions of this book and loved them too. As the authors say, “we encourage you to use [this book] , not only as a reference, but as a learning tool to help you gain better fluency.” There are so many extra features, it would be ridiculous to list them all, but as some examples... Each tense is explained. Selected words appear in a contrasting color for clarity and speed. List of common irregular present and past particles. 501 verbs not enough for you? There’s an extensive list of over 2,300 verbs that are conjugated exactly like the 501 “model” verbs. List of the most important 55 verbs. More help online. My only gripe is that I wish stem/spelling changes In and of themselves were red. Also I would like even more lists, like “regular -ar verbs ending with stem changes: Tenses 1,6, Imperative”. Verbs are already identified as such, but I’m a pattern learner, so the more pattern lists, the better.

i was so disappointed when i tried to open the QR code and i found unserviceable website🥲 authors should be more authentic than selling a book with inop website for grammar activity basically once u scan the QR the website only prompts selling books but guess what even if you buy a book the website has zero activities and exercises nada🤬
