PC Tech of 30 years - Great value, worked great with my sync backup
I trust Orico and buy many of their other products. They are also responsive if you ever need to contact them through Amazon seller channels. As a PC tech, I often get orphaned 2230 NVMe drives and they are about impossible to move to other boards that cannot mount them. I then took one of those drives, wiped it and made it into a portable backup. It is NOT a travel backup, but what I use to sync my images collection on an image server that sits on my desk.

Makes for a great, fast little portable drive but built in heatsink isn't super effective.
Great option for the price and I would definitely get another one if I had the need. The case and included cable both feel solid and the case is easy to get into without having to worry about opening up unintentionally. If I had to point out a shortcoming, the built in heatsink is useless without a thermal pad, but for your standard drives one typical thermal pad isn't thick enough to come into contact with it and two is too thick, so I have to loosen the screws on the heatsink so it'll sit lower in order for it to make contact with the thermal pad. Minor issue really, and wouldn't stop me from getting another.

Great SSD enclosure
It's a great small SSD enclosure. I use it with my VR headset

Designed in a Vacuum
The heatsink is centered in the case but not centered above the NVME drive. Thee gap between the drive and heatsink is about 3mm, so using a 2mm pad is too thick, and a single 1.5mm pad (supplied) is too thin. With both pads stacked, the screws hit the top bad and can't close, so the top had has to be offset. I don't think I'm going to bother keeping this.

The Clear Plastic is Cracking
The enclosure works well enough, although you can not get SMART data unlike many others that Orico has made. The biggest problem is the that the plastic shell is cracking. You can see the cracks radiating out from the screws. The thing is I barely had these for less 2 months and the plastic is falling apart. This is very disappointing. There is some serious quality control issues.

BitLocker Recovery Key
Make sure to decrypt ssd before replacing it. Perfect to convert ssd internal to external storage.

It does exactly what it's supposed too, but it needs a thicker thermal pad included.
The speeds are fine for USB-C.About 1000 in crystaldiskmark and about 600 when I'm actually transferring big files. My only complaint is they include thermal pads but even when you double up what they give you it still doesn't even touch the heatsink. Had to use my own thermal pad which I had laying around.

Works great, and fast for me. But be aware of one thing
Eclousure works great, tool-less opening. Comes with a small Torx screw and driver to install the drive, along with a couple of thermal pads.My only gripe, is the GLARING bright blue LED for drive activity. This little LED will light up a dark room, and being a clear case it gets rather annoying after a bit. If you are using it outside at noon on a clear day it's fine. Any other use case, you're going to notice it easily. I'll be painting or taping something over this LED for sure.
