Great Camping light.
Great light for camping and home emergencies. Light is compact and light weight therefore easy to carry. Light is bright but has a warm tone and great for camping, very functional. Batteries last long time. I mostly use this light for camping but when we had a power outage in my house. Great light. Highly recommend this product.

Low expectations surprise
This was frankly a surprise. I was asked to review these, but for the price assumed they would be poorly constructed and emit a "glow" rather than a real light, particularly on the two batteries setting. More specifically, it holds four AAA batteries, and they are good quality batteries included with the lamp. The cost of the batteries alone would have been considerable, but they are part of the deal with this lantern. You can put in two batteries, and the lantern emits a light lasting about 100 hours, or four batteries, with a brighter light that lasts less time. I decided to stick with the two batteries, and it illuminated the room, easy to read with, and I was frankly surprised. It isn't cheaply made, it's got a heavy base and a handle on top for carrying, hanging, etc. It's light weight but sturdy. I will use this at home in an emergency situation, but this is light enough to take camping. Kudos, this is one of the good ones.

I love these little lanterns.
These little lanterns are very well made and will hold up well for most. They provide good light and will run on 2 or 4 AA batteries. Running on 4 nickel metal hydride batteries, I get a good 24 to 36 hours of usable light. Now let me say your not going to use them for read a book, you could but your eyes are going to hate you for it. But they will light a hallway or a tent well. If you have to walk in areas that are not lighted, these will help you not kill yourself. They are small and kind of cute and can run on any type of AA batteries.

Gets the job done
UPDATE Oct 25 2925..... The batteries that came with these were Ever Ready, and when I had to use this light, I found the batteries lasted, at decent light output, for 3 days...9 hrs each day. Since then, these have become battery guzzlers. If I insert 4, and run for 9 hrs a night, by the next day the output light is dim. Still, in an emergency siruation they work as intended. Otherwise they're battery guzzlers....but battery companies such as E and D (you know who I mean) make their batteries with less life these days. Very disappointing since ER are expensive. INITIAL REVIEW. Work as intended. No fuss. No muss. These are just for emergencies when the power goes out. Operate on 2 or 4 batteries. And batteries were included. I used 4. It has a simple on/off button. Can be hung or they can stand on a surface. Clean compact design. Nothing fancy at all, no annoying usb charger to mess with. They get the job done. I doubt the battery compartment is waterproof but hey, I'm not planning on using them outside. They have enough light to see to get around. Not overly bright. One of these lamps shed enough light for me to be able to see my way through a pitch black garage. I bought 4 lamps (2 packs) and I may get more. Very handy to have for unexpected power outages. Not sure how long the batteries last, but if our next outage is lengthy I'll let you know.

Put a little light in your life
Light weight. Very light weight...puts out good light. If your power goes out you could see to eat or read or move about and not deal with potentially dangerous oil lamps. This is NOT super high powered lumens. The trade off is that the batteries will run it for days. So....if you want lights that will last during a three day or more black out from a storm...this is a great way to go. No frills...no dimmer....just good light for many hours. You get the two lanterns and 8 batteries. Each use either two....cool...or all four batteries. I put all four into each. So if you already have a multifunctional light.....add these in to the mix. I have a 20 year old battery powered....very heavy weighted one ....I needed more and did NOT want to pay the 30 bucks a comparable one costs today. My old one has not had a battery change in probably 10 years. I DO use it for camping and walking outside. This is a great price for long lasting light. No it will not light up a huge room like ceiling lights. It WILL allow you as I said to read....eat....walk around.... It would indeed light up a small tent like a two to four man tent. This is a great gift for anyone. Having the batteries come with it is a super good plus especially if this is a gift. Five stars. Five. When I click five it acts weird. I am giving this two pack for 15 dollars or less five stars

Love these for use in power outages
I am very impressed with these lanterns. I ordered them for our hurricane season since we often lose power during a strong storm. They are small and easy to store, lightweight with a nice handle and brighter than I even expected. Easy to use with only one button and nice that they are weather resistent and no metal to corrode. So glad I ordered them.

Lantern For Home Use
I bought this for an elderly couple to have inside their home this long dark winter. The lanterns are simple to use and very light weight. The family can easily use them if there is a power outage. The lanterns can be carried with ease from room to room. They are bright enough to use outdoors, such as walking to a mailbox in the evening. They appear durable. I would recommend this product for home or camping.

Good basic lantern, and can work on 2 batteries. It does not have high/medium/low or flashing red settings like others.

Excellent emergency lanterns. These are my second set used for when the power goes out. Dependable battery powered as a good addition to my rechargeable lanterns that sometimes run out of power when you need it.
