My childhood dream comes true!
It's always a childhood dream to get myself a Telescope.Ordered this one since it's most price competitive.Shipping is super fast even I am no longer Amazon Prime member. I ordered it on Friday, it arrived on following Monday!!Packaging is solid, a little smaller than what I expected. Well, maybe I expect too much for a Telescope designed for kids. There are magnified moon and solar system pictures enclosed in the box, which is a bonus. Good thought from the seller!Assembling is a charm, just follow the instruction of user manual.Even though user manual is in English, need a bit improvement on translation.Apparently it was translated directly from Chinese-version user manual. It clearly states image seen will be up-side-down, but who cares since we are viewing MOON!!It took me a while to figure out how to use finder scope and focus. Image is not crispy clear, probably because it is too close.Tripod design can be improved as it's not very stable even after I pressed down the center lock. There is no moon tonight, I am looking forward to use the scope to view when moon becomes availableWith that amount of money paid for a functional telescope, it meets my expectation. With that, I give 5-star :)

Beginner's telescope
This is a great gift for girls and boys. I bought thos as a gift for my 9 year old granddaughter. It's size is compact and she can take it anywhere whether it's night or day, camping, hiking or just sitting in your back yard. We use it for birdwatching, aligator watching and star gazing . It comes with the tripod for stability while using the telescope. This is very useful for stimulating your child's interest. I normally spend the same for a birthday gift that is tossed away. This is not so much a toy but the beginning key exploring into the world of astronomy and birdwatching at the very young age.

Steady patience required
This telescope has been a huge disappointment. I had bought it for my grandson when he was clearly too young, 3, to operate it. I trotted it back out now, when he is 8, and decided to first learn myself how to operate it. I am finding it way too small and flimsy to hold steady and aim. Because of the very small diameter of its optics, alignment of the object, telescope, and eye must be extremely precise. Sitting it on a table with its tripod, the diagonal mirror, and the 20 mm eyepiece, I am able to focus on the wall of an adjacent building if I hold my eye steady in just the right place without touching the eyepiece. It is hard to keep my head and eye still enough. Nice to finally see that it actually “works.” I am thinking, however, that my grandson would be better off with a good pair of binoculars.

Does not work for nature/birdwatching
I bought this as a gift for my son. He loves playing with his toy telescope on his swing set so I thought this would be a great step up for him. The description in both the ad and on the telescope box itself says/shows that it is good for birdwatching and looking at nature so this is the main reason I bought it. My son isn't old enough or interested enough in star gazing. While I'll admit we are novices at using a telescope, we had no idea that the image through the telescope would presend itself upside down!!! What person wants to look at nature upside down?? I don't think the telescope should be advertised for this. Also, for beginners, it is really hard to focus on the tiny hole and you have to squint so hard that it gives you a headache. Yes, you can see things very far away and the clarity is good, but it doesn't work for appreciating nature.

Works well
For being a used telescope it works well. Small and easy to use. I got to see the moon very close last night so awesome. Gotta take it to star gaze 1 day. So cool

Good telescope for the kids aged 8-15
This is a very good gift for the kids and the good telescope to begin with for beginners. It's size is compact and you can take it anywhere whether it's night camping or hiking or just roaming around the forest. You can use it for birdwatching, star gazing . It comes with the tripod for stability while using the telescope. You can observe the beauty of our galaxy by looking at the moon, stars in the clear night or just use this for looking into the night scenary of your bright city. This is very useful for having your child explore into the world of astronomy at the very young age.Thumbs up and good buy for the reasonable price.

Pretty small, even for a kid
It is pretty small even for a kid to actually use it. If they are just putting it in the room and playing then fine, but cannot really use it to look at anything.
