THE KITE KEEPS GETTING CAUGHT IN TREES
Way bigger than I expected. I named the kite Jared, he kept flying into trees. Three trees, one day. The first time I had to ask someone for help since the first tree was not too tall. Second tree was VERY TALL I’m talking about thirty feet. By the second time I was worried Jared’s first day flying was his last. Luckily the string was sturdy and I yanked him out of the tree with all of my might. I still thought that it would be easier to fly a kite than my experience with this kite. Jared was easy to set up since there was no poles and he flew into the air fairly easily but that is were it ended since I could not get him in the air for more than 30 seconds which is funny since he got stuck in many trees. I have had my kite for two weeks now and I am too scared to fly it again because I am scared it will choose to get stuck in another tree.

this is a keeper !
i have a fascination for big kites. i have a few in my collection. now that i have grandkids, i plan to make a tradition out of flying them with the gkids.this particular kite flies great at the beach with steady coastal wind; does require much. you just have to understand that this doesnt have a frame like your standard kite designs but instead uses air channels to direct air into the kite itself which in turn fills up and takes the form of the kite’s design which in this case is a whale ! is a lot bigger than my other kites which i like. i would start off and get it flu first before i hand it over to our little cuties and have them run with it along the shore! great exercise for grandpa and superfun for the little ones!

Wonderful Design
This is a great design, a dolphin parafoil kite. This is a medium-large parafoil, fairly long and employing a drogue as a part of its tail. The blue, white, and orange colors are sharp looking, with the orange fins and tail inflating from the inside of the parafoil tubes. I can't say it looks like a dolphin necessarily but it's a whimsical sea creature for sure. It might be mistaken for a whale. The nylon material is not rip-stop so I hope there are no durability problems down the line. There is also no swivel clip for the string (though they employ one for the drogue tail). The kit comes with a plenty large clear plastic and rip-stop storage bag. Regardless of the few shortcomings, I think this is a fantastic kite at a great price.

hard to fly
This is not an easy to fly kite. I love the way it looks, but it is hard to fly. It's easy to get into the air, but to get it to fly higher than 20 feet is where it gets hard. It doesn't want to go up so just letting the line out doesn't do anything. have to get the kite to get into the right angle to pull up. Had fun, but you need patience.

Disappointed...
Great difficulties getting this kite to stay airborne, it continually went into a "dive".Performance did not meet expectations.

Cool looking. Line isn't pre attached nor quick clip, kids will need help attaching before flying.
Note: This is not ready to fly right out of the package so if this is a gift it would be a good idea to pre open it and correctly attach the line before wrapping it up.I saw this kite and thought it looked really cool. The listing calls it a dolphin but personally I think it looks more like a whale which is more appealing to me anyway. This is a really cool looking kite and a fairly large size. It's been pretty windy around here lately and I gave this to the kids the next time the took their kites out to fly. They love kites and the more unusual they look the more they like them, so I thought this would be a big hit. When they were done I asked them how they liked the new kite and they said they never used it because they didn't know how to "hook it up". So I took a look at it and I see what they mean. There is no ring or clip attachment on either the end of the main string or the string bundle coming from the kite itself.I checked back to the Amazon listing and it says "COMPLETE PACKAGE: The package contains the instruction and assembly instruction, the handle with line and all the accessories that can make the kite take off." But there are no instructions for anything other than telling you not to fly near trees or power lines, etc. I ended up having to look up the proper way to tie the main line to the kite which first requires tying a loop in the end of the main line and then tying the loop in between the two knots on the line bundle coming from the kite.I got the proper attachment accomplished thanks to an online video but by that time the kids didn't feel like taking the kites back out again and there hasn't been enough wind since to keep it airborne. Another thing I noticed when tying the line on is that there are holes in the kite material every so often along the seams. Not sure what that story is but I'm a little concerned if the kite will start fraying in these spots after much time in the wind. I will update this review after it gets some air time.
