Simple games, fun but overpriced
There are a huge number of games available to play on this console, but it is a case of quantity over quality. There is hours and hours of fun to be had, trying and testing out all the games. Most of the games are the old retro games and uses the controller in the normal way, with a D pad and A and B buttons. The quality of the buttons on the controller isn't the best, and button presses sometimes don't register. The games are split into 4 categories -[1] The retro games [2] Puzzle games [3] Motion Games and [4] Gun games Some of the games are a bit hard for kids as they have very short time limits to win, but the actual game is clearly aimed at kids such as card matching games. Coupled with the slightly unresponsive controllers, it does make some of these games difficult to play. Some of the games say they are 2 - player, but the second player doesn't work. Most the the games we tried seem fine though, so I think there are perhaps a few buggy games in there. The Motion games uses the controllers as batons, so you can pump or swing the controller to play. There is no concept of directionality, it just senses movement, so games where movement is required such as tennis, the player character will run to ball automatically and you just have to swing. Due to no directionality, you can swing the controller in any direction to play, even the opposite direction that makes sense. On games where you have to kill things, of hit things, you just need to shake the controller continuously and you can win every level as it automatically places the hit in the correct position, and has no idea what direction you are swinging. Although this makes the games sort of pointless, my 3 years old thinks they are fabulous and can win some levels. The Gun games require you to calibrate the gun by pointing and shooting into the centre of the screen, and then to the top right of the screen. The aiming and movement tracking is pretty jerky and quite difficult to use as it is not very accurate. It is usable, but my kids found it very difficult. The games are also quite repetitive and not particularly interesting. I think the best games on this console are the retro ones, and this console seems a little overpriced to me. However, you do get some novelty in the motion games and the gun games, which is fun to explore and adds a bit of novelty.
