Great!
This is a really great little DAP, not audiophile quality - but not garbage either. UI is easy to use and quick to navigate. Sound quality is pretty good - drives my Beyerdynamic T1's just fine - can go really loud. Needs some EQ to get to my audio preferences, and the 7 band custom EQ is ok, a little fiddly to dial in the values you want on the touch screen. Built in speaker is great for audiobooks. You can record line-in, and compress to MP3 directly - which is pretty awesome. Recording from either built in mic or line-in (which is shared with the headphone socket) - there's no level control - but you can switch on AGC for recording. Because it shares line-in with the headphone socket you can't monitor the levels and there's no visual level guide (shame) - if they put level control and some visual level - that would make it a usable function rather than "something else" it can do. Worth every penny - it's super handy and build quality is great.

Good little unit
Great little unit for storage and easy to upload found the screen a little small but you get used to it found that it struggles to connect to all available Bluetooth devices eg connected ok to my Alexa unit but not my car Sound and volume good and found battery lasts well . It's good for the money you pay for it

Better than expected...
I wanted a cheaper MP3 player [yes some of us still use them!] to use at the gym instead of keep taking my ipod. After a bit of searching around I decided on this Mechen player and I'm more than happy with it. Even without using an SD card the 64GB holds more than enough for my needs, Without using the supplied wired earpiece the sound is tinny, but I used bluetooth over ear pieces and that makes the sound more than acceptable. Even better with headphones. Once charged the player lasts a long time before the need to re-charge and I find myself using it more often than my ipod! The menu is easy to understand and navigate, and the linking up via bluetooth simple and intuitive. For what it is this is a good buy.

Dodgy Quality
Product looked good, felt solid and although the screen was a little difficult to work due to it's size, I managed to get it up and running quite quickly. Windows Media Player recognised it straight away and I easily synched a couple of albums on to the Mechen. Feeling very pleased with myself, I plugged in the headphones to sample the sound quality. Or rather I didn't. The screen said 'File Format Not Supported'. Oh dear. Being somewhat computer stupid I had no idea how to re-format the music files; and why would/should I? my old Sony walkman used to synch easily. So, it looked like I was never going to make this thing compatible with Windows (WTF!). After a cup of tea and a custard cream, I sat down again and synched a couple of more albums just to make sure. And, you know what? They played perfectly. Tried a few more....some would play, others wouldn't. So, nothing to do with a File Format, more to do with a dodgy product. Sent it straight back the next day.

Okay for the money but not the right functionality
The initially looks a nice item - it comes with a charger, transfer cable and case. However, the interface is not very good - the font is terrible very small and hard to read. It looks very old and not as user friendly as other MP3 players. The main reason for the purchase was to create several playlists of songs for an event so it could easily be started and stopped and would play the songs in the list. You cannot add new playlists or rename them - so you only have 3 playlists (adding songs to playlist 1 for example is also very time consuming you would need to go to each song and change it to link it to the play list - with 90 songs that needed to go to playlist 3 I gave up as it would be too time consuming, Instructions are very basic and do not cover any complex functionality. Fairly cheap for the money fine if you want a basic player (sound was good quality) but if you want a nicer interface and extra functionality I would pay a bit more for a larger screen and better interface.

Very good for its price point.
Had the player a few weeks now. I purchased it for its line-in recording facility that works very well. The FM radio is reasonable given the limitation of using the earplug cord as the aerial but it locks on to plenty of stations where I live. There’s several other apps like calendar, stopwatch, image viewer. They work but I have other options for them. The voice recorder is something I can see being useful. As an MP3 player it’s good. There are EQ controls too which work but they are bit fiddly to use. Battery life is good and I’ve had no problems with making a Bluetooth connection. The touch screen is responsive but the options are quite small and it’s easy to press another option by mistake. That’s because the player is tiny as I needed it to be. The one thing that lets it down is the audio quality of the earplugs. They’re OK but better ones make the audio a lot more immersive. Given the price point I’m not surprised at this. If you want a reasonably priced, small MP3 player this is worth a try. It does the job well and has other potentially useful features too. I can’t fault it for my needs although I have swapped the earphones to get a better sound.

Excellent value for money.
This is a really good little Mp3/4 player. I only got it to play music on and it does that really good. The set up was so simple it literally took about 2 minutes. I loaded just over 3000 tracks on it in about 2 hours or so. BT set up is a doddle. I contacted the seller with a question, and they came back with detailed (and easy to follow) instructions, this prompted me to buy from them. I have BT earbuds and the sound is very good. I would certainty recommend this player to anyone wanting a cost effective music player. It does play video, E-books, voice recorder and has a FM radio.

For $30, it's hard to go wrong with this. I'm able to drag and drop music from iTunes with no problems. If you do a little effort to make sure the metadata is what you want it to be, moving the files over will work as-desired. I don't make playlists. Can you? I think, but you have to do it with the player and that is time-consuming. I assign genres and use genres as my playlists. Is the UI clunky? Yeah. If you go deep into menus you have to manually back your way every level. There's not a quick "home" to start you over. Sorry. Want to be able to read the screen in daylight? Sorry. You're screwed. This thing connects easily to all of my bluetooth devices. It plays music. It's light and small. Also, it's $30. If you don't like figuring out how to make a player like this work for you, buy something more expensive. Don't like the "limited" storage capacity? I dunno. It holds a ton of files. Maybe store files on multiple microsd cards and pretend you're making mixtapes for your ex-gf who broke up with you for a guy who's capable of beating Zelda without the cheat codes.

I bought this as a replacement for my old mP3 player that died. Pros: Well built solid player. Takes a 256 GB micro SD card (and maybe even larger) Good sound quality Bluetooth pairs easily Long battery life Cons: Touchscreen response a little slow (and hard to get accurate on small screen) Once a song is on the SD card can't reorder files When loading lots of songs, searching for song is a long process Earbuds supplied with player are of low quality Transferring files with supplied USB C is slow (maybe not USB A 3.0) Overall this is one of the best players I have owned and I highly recommend it. This review was unsolicited and I purchased this player for myself. Update 8-18-2024 I just formatted a 512 GB memory card. It works well with the player and can take a lot of music files. Update 8-29-2024 I have discovered that while this player can use a 512 GB memory card it does reduce the amount of time between charges by more than half to do so. Apparently the extra memory uses more power. Update 10-2-2024 With 128 GB card the charge lasts about 20 hours With 256 GB card the charge lasts about 8-10 hours With 512 GB charge the charge lasts about 4 hours. To re-alphabetize files go to music and have the player rescan the sd card
