Fantastic Refurb, but if you're dealing with the fuzzy mic/earphones read my review.
Fantastic Refurbed headset. I had this headset before, but a much older model, and I loved it to bits. However, when I received this new one I was a bit frustrated, because I was plagued with the scratchy mic, and low background fuzziness in my earphones that many people on forums have complained about. I'm writing this review to explain what resolved this for me, so you can enjoy your headset! I personally do not have a sound card on my computer, I've wanted one for ages, but have bought one yet. If you have a sound card, you shouldn't really be having much trouble with this headset. However, if you don't have a sound card, the fuzzy noise that's coming through is actually noise being picked up by the headset USB cable from your PC. To resolve this issue grab a USB to A/C adapter (I had an extra phone charger, so I just removed the USB cable that came with it, and plugged my headset in), then plug in the headset/mic cords into your computer. Restart your computer, and voila you shouldn't have the problem anymore. I had to buy an extension cord to plug my A/C adapter in, so I didn't have trouble reaching the mic/head phone plugs, but other than that this resolve the problem. I love the headset, ESPECIALLY for the price, and I'd have given it 5 stars if it didn't require a ridiculous amount of googling to resolve the fuzziness issue.

Sometimes You Buy A Headset for parts.
I purchased this headset simply because I needed new ear cups. Getting new ones from Razer was going to cost over twenty bucks. I simply purchased this headset for parts. Before stripping it for parts, I did test them out. My rig has all the grounding it should and this pair still has the annoying buzzing sound that everyone else has complained about. I'm giving 3 stars since the ear cups fit the older version of this headset just fine and that was my original intent.I'm a little annoyed that I cannot move the head cushion. After taking all the screws out, I found that the head cushion was double sticky tapped to the plastic and the foam part that makes up the head cushion. The wiring goes under this so I cannot easily swap the two. Separating the two would probably destroy the cushion so I gave up there. I'm sure if I really wanted to get the new head cushion moved I could rewire the whole thing, but that is too much effort I do not want to go through.Probably going to buy something even better in a few months any how. This was a good stop gap.

There are many reasons why i love this headset
There are many reasons why i love this headset, but the most important one for me was the price. I mean come on 19 dollars for a Razer product? But i bought this mainly because of how cheap they were. For a refurbished product they have remained an excellent headset for almost 5 months now. The sound quality is amazing with a nice low punchy end when you want it and a decent high and mid when you want that. I have no complaints so far other than the occasional buzzing noise that goes away after about 5 minutes. This only happens twice a week however. When i originally read the reviews and everyone was saying there was a bad buzzing noise that stayed constantly. To fix this problem i just plugged the usb connection into a universal wall charger for any smartphone and the buzzing was instantly gone. I would definitely recommend this product.

The Carcharias is WAY more comfortable than my Kraken Pros
Got the refurbished version for under $20. Compared to my current kraken pros they arent too far apart. The Carcharias is WAY more comfortable than my Kraken Pros. The sound is only slightly worse than the krakens but the microphone is pretty bad. You have to mess with your mic settings for a bit to make them decent. Also the inline control would get signal interference from other electronics if it got too close so it would make this weird buzzing noise.Pros :EXTREMELY COMFORTABLESound quality is pretty good for the refurbished price (would not buy these new)Inline controlLong cable lengthDurable wireDurable headsetCons:Mic isn't the bestBuzzing noise with electronic interferencePlastic feels cheapVelvety texture on earmuffs get dustyDefinitely recommend these, can't go better for the price as long as you get them refurbished

The buzzing is real: Only an external power adapter will eliminate it.
Like most reviews state, there is a very annoying and constant buzzing when the USB is plugged into my computer. I tried using these on 3 different PCs and it is still there so I find it hard to believe that it's a problem with all 3 PCs like Razer states.TO FIX THE BUZZING PROBLEM: I plugged them into an old iPhone charger I had lying around and the buzzing is totally gone. The headset is super comfortable and I love the open design since it allows me to interact with the family while I'm playing games. Sound from the headphones is good and I'm told the mic sounds fine. The volume control/mute feels very cheap. For the $22 refurbed price this is a decent headset as long as you use a separate power adapter for it. Now if I had purchased it new for $70 it would have been returned on day 1 due to the obnoxious buzzing. I have not tried these with XBox so I can't comment on how that works out.

Comfy, works, but not top of the line
They're comfortable but the sound controls on the wire were not as expected. These buttons, while the description makes it sound as if they'll give you different levels of control over the sound/s, they very minimally change anything. It's almost not noticeable.Occasionally there's a bit of feedback noise too which is annoying but for the most part they work for gaming and skype simultaneously and mostly clear sound. I find the feedback noise is usually when I only have one sound coming through, i.e., just gaming or just skype, but when there's two simultaneously it's usually clear.I do wish I had more control (as the description suggested I would have) over which sound to make higher or lower (game, skype, music) when two sounds are simultaneous.
