Luckily I haven’t had to use the bear spray yet (and hope I never will!) so I can’t evaluate this product’s effectiveness, but I wanted to give some feedback on the wearability and use. About a month ago we saw a bear on our property when driving in our truck. Although neighbors had reported bear sightings, I had not personally seen one until then. I hike the property a lot so was totally freaked out and wanted some protection. I was looking for something that I could carry comfortably, was EPA approved and was easy to use. This product met all of my needs. The carrying strap was actually pretty cumbersome and I gave up using it, but the product is the right size to fit snuggly into the side pocket of my pants. I also practiced taking the safety clip off and pulling the “trigger” and it was super easy. But it feels very safe when you are walking with it, so no concern about accidental spraying. Overall I’m really pleased with this product-I feel much safer hiking in the woods and just hope I never need to use it!

This is the second can I bought . When I walk my dog at night, as long as you pay attention to safety- this is 30’ take down anything!

I haven't had to try this yet, thank goodness. I'm going to assume it will work.Easy to carry though, so I like that. And not too heavy which is another plus.

I purchased this brand of brand of bear spray several years ago. I fortunately have never needed to use in for it's intended purpose or any other purpose other than a little peace of mind when in bear country.I replaced it because the expiration date has lapsed by two years. Although I think it would still have been potent enough to deter a bear, I chose not to try it on myself or others to see what it effectiveness appeared to by.The expiration date was not on the label in plain view as in the past. The seller directed me to the bottom container and there it was .

Great size to care while hiking, easy quick access

I’m not sure about its effectiveness against bears, but it has helped with keeping my neighbors away. Pro tip: It’s not like bug spray, so don’t spray it on yourself.
