Smokey Smokey
I bought these to get rid of carpet moths and now I don't have moths

Very effective, very smoky. Turn off fire alarms first!
These larger size fumigators proved to be effective against the moths. However, you may need to use them more than once as it only seems to kill live moths, so eggs can still hatch. The other thing to note is that they will set off smoke alarms. I turned the mains circuit to our alarms off, but forgot they have battery back up. Doh!

It has worked very well.
This item has worked very well for me, the taper was lit and the smoke quickly developed and filled the room and the moths have not returned.

Good and not too smelly
I found some moth damage and have moths flying around the house. Identified as clothes moths despite being out in daylight. Used these fumers to reduce infestation. Backed up by freezing clothes and some moth killer hangers. I lit one of these in an open wardrobe to get most smoke near moths. It didn't smoke for long so I thought it had gone out and lit another. It hadn't so I had a lot of smoke. Left about 5 hours and then opened windows. Only a faint smell sort of sweet smoky smell not unpleasant. I then did another room with one fumer and left overnight. Only took an hour or so with the window open to clear. 5 stars for use. I haven't seen any moths yet. I have been seeing about 5 a day

Do leave a long lasting smoke smell
I tried these, and whilst they appear to work, the smoke smell lasted over a week. I moved on to the aerosol versions instead, which have zero smell.

Easy to use.. seem to have got rid of moths for now!
Expensive day after lockdown when I re-visited my suits and found I had to bin 6 due to moth damage. I’ve done 4 things.. thorough clean through including carpet shampoo etc, fumigated using these smoke bombs, put stick up repellent in wardrobes and put the remaining suits in plastic zip up covers.Super Fumers —> I felt a bit uncomfortable setting fire to something and leaving it in a closed room.. so I filled a large shallow bowl with water and placed the fumer on an upturned small bowl in the centre so if it fell over or melted it would drop into the water. On lightning there is a few sparks but nothing too dramatic.. the fumer then smoulders for a minute and releases smoke into the closed room. I can confirm that the plastic fumer melts through at the side, I’d never place these directly onto a carpet..The room was filled with smoke.. didn’t smell especially chemically.. more like a bonfire. I left the room sealed for a couple of hours and then aired it. If you’re doing a bedroom I’d do it in the morning so the smell has died off by the time you go to bed. I haven’t seen moths in the room since I did it ..and I was seeing them daily before.

It took a while but it worked
We had some trial and error with these but they worked in the end. At the worst point in the infestation, we were seeing 20 moths a day so this is an extreme case and I think in most situations, foggers could work quicker. It took us 5-6 weeks of fogging every 5-6 days and leaving the house for 4 hours (Have fans at the ready and a space you return to where you can be while the house airs out such as the kitchen). I steamed the carpets (the only thing that kills the whole life cycle) and heat treated all clothes that could be heat treated. I haven't seen a moth in 2 months. Before the foggers, I tried the traps and spraying carpets and hoovering everywhere but these did not work. Foggers and steaming were the only things that broke the life cycle. I also tried the 3.5 g foggers and they were not strong enough for our rooms so that set us back a little. I recommend the 11 g and breaking the cycle by doing it every 5-6 days.

Works well
Have struggled with carpet moths for a long time. These have worked well. Not seen any moths since. Was really careful to place on multiple baking trays based on other reviews and had no problems. Not the nicest of smells, mostly burning plastic, but goes after a day or so. Would buy again
