I bought this to attach to my skydiving helmet to use during night jumps. After I open my parachute, I switch on this light to illuminate my parachute. This helps identify issues (as needed), and it also looks cool so others can see me flying around. Oh yeah, that's for safety too, so we don't crash into each other in the dark.It's bright, fairly lightweight, very well designed and built well. I like that I can use a GoPro mount with it! I can see this coming in handy on my tractor, for plowing at night, as well as in other applications.Good stuff. I will likely buy more. I guess I took the word diving literally.

Compact, wide angle light. Photos Left to Right are Standard GoPro Light Mod with diffuser, GoPro light without diffuser, the rate Suptic 36 LED diving light, and the combination of the rated Suptic light with the GoPro light mod without diffuser. All shot with GoPro on a tripod 10-ft from a target wall using the 16-34 mm wide angle lens setting with 1x zoom, 1/1,000 sec, and white balance set to Native. Lux values were 3 Center and 0 lux at edge of frame for the GoPro with diffuser, 26 center and 0 edge for the GoPro without diffuser, 30 lux center and 0 lux at edge for the rated Suptic light, and 45 lux center and 1 lux at the edge for both lights together. Much easier and more practical to mount than the GoPro light mode, which requires either the waterproof housing or the Media mod housing, the latter of which requires partial disassembly and renders the assembly non-waterproof. The light throw pattern would probably be a good match for the Linear lens setting, and compared to the GoPro, brighter, more even, longer battery life, one third the cost (including the GoPro housings), and easier to mount, although slightly more more bulky. The two lights can be used together to produce a pleasing center-weighted light pattern.

Ive used this on 4 dives (all to less than 30ft) and no leaks. the gasket is not like most dive housings that are designed to be greased but I have better luck (based on past similar items) if I grease it well with silicone grease- I use more than I would on traditional underwater housings. The down side of this is that it is messy and can actually attract dirt and hair that will cause a leak if you arent careful. When it is latched closed it actually bulges a bit near the middle and seems more secure if you squeeze it together while you latch it. All of that feels less secure to me than it should BUT is has not leaked yet and the price is good. This is a fill light not a beam- good for looking at things that are a few feet away and good for photos, not for navigating like a flashlight. I was hoping it would be a bit brighter but its still helpful. I did not use if for the entire dive- probably ~45 minutes and the charge lasted fine.I only do night dives for a week or two in summer then it wont get used for a year. instructions say to store it charged 60% (there is no indicator to tell you how charged it is) and to charge every three months. I doubt I will remember that. I would prefer a replaceable rechargeable battery for that reason. Seems likely I will not get as much life out of it next summer. time will tell.

I have done over 50 dives with this light on my GoPro. I have a dive case for my GoPro that has a cold shoe on top for this. I keep the light at a slight angle over the GoPro shot and it has give me so many good shots even in places where I can’t see.The light holds a charge very well. I’ve never had a single problem with this light and it give me the perfect light for night dives and even for day dives in deep water or dark reef crevices.I’ve taken this light to 130 feet with no issues. I’ve done entire dive trips without having to recharge it. I don’t keep it on all the time. I only turn it on when I know I need it or might need it.Overall I couldn’t be happier with this light with my GoPro.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this thinking it would work well with my GoPro 10 and underwater case. The light is waterproof down to the 110 ft (33.5 m) that I dove with it. Attaching it was easy and charging was simple.Significant issues were that the light level is not great at all. 500 lumens sounds great but under water it fades quickly. The description also states that there are two light levels plus a flashing mode. See the video I attached because I didn't see any difference in light levels. Another significant issue is that the back cover of the unit (where the battery and charging port are located) extends past the edge of the light casing so attaching the GoPro shoe fitting that comes with it (or any other) is an issue as this protrusion interferes with full engagement and locking of the shoe. I'd be concerned that this would compromise the lid seal by pushing outward on it.Lesser issues are that the shoe that was provided broke one of the two retaining clips after only a dozen cycles and the screw provided with the unit started rusting despite that fact that I rinsed it fairly quickly after each dive. On the underwater case I purchased, they provided a stainless steel screw, something I think should have been provided here.While this can work as a light for night work above the water to a range of about 10 feet, I don't think it should be advertised for diving, SCUBA, or even snorkeling.

Very nice addition to my gopro. Have not used it in underwater situation but am excited to try next time I go diving!
