Greatest collection - Solid Gold
What a fantastic collection of the superb Bee Gees. They had a gift of songwriting and their musical genius shines through on the best selection of their greatest hits over the many decades. They were one of the best pop groups of the 60's, 70's and 80's and it is brilliant to hear all of their master pieces in chronological order. Memories of 1967 and 68 came flooding back to me of my childhood and great to re-visit the 70's disco music. Their gift of song continued with 'You Win Again', 'Alone' and the brilliant 'For Whom The Bells Toll' which highlights Robin's vocals and reminds me of the 60's 'Saved By The Bell'. Along with The Beatles, The Beach Boys and ABBA, The Bee Gees music will live on for decades. Perfect pop from a golden time in musical history. 'Words' can't describe 'How Deep Is My Love' for this brilliant group. I already have a few collections including 'Mythology ' but this set is 'The Record' to buy and enjoy.

Their hits, their recordS!
This double-disc compilation is a great overview of the Bee Gees' impressive career and amazing amount of hits. Not only does it include all of the beloved songs from the pop/folk (60s), disco (70s), synth pop (80s) and mainstream (90s/200s) pop eras, but it also features their own and new versions of the hits the Gibb brotehrs wr"ote for others ("If I can't have you", "Heartbreaker", "Emotion", "Islands in the stream", "Immortality). Still, the highlights are their own hits from the early "Spicks and Specks", the impressive hit of strings from the sixties to the career defining disco anthems from Saturday Night Fever" and the great pop hits of the 80s/90s ("You win again", "One", "Alone"..). This double album is the ultimate evidence of their amazing record-breaking success as hit-songwriters, their unequalled vocal harmonies and a tribute to the two late brothers who left Barry alone as the sole remaining Bee Gee.

Like the Bee Gees? You'll like (some of) this
I thought long and hard before buying this two CD collection, because, frankly, not all of it is to my taste. The first CD in particular is a mixed bag. But what the first CD lacks, the second has in spades. What convinced me to buy it was that, amongst all the other big hits, it has "You Win Again", which is missing from other Bee Gees collections. So filter out the dross, and what you are left with is pure gold.

Replaced
I bought a copy of The Record from The Cleveland Rock and Roll Museum in 2002. Unfortunately when we changed our car last year one of the c.d's was left in the c.d. player and I was not able to get it back so I was happy to see this on Amazon as I used to play it a lot.I am pleased to say it arrived on time and I am looking forward to playing it.
