Expert Resource: Novice ICU RN to Seasoned CCRN
I heavily scrutinized this content for accuracy, and to assess clinical relevance as an educational resource. My entire nursing career of 13 years has been based in heart/vascular ICU and Mechanical Circulatory Support (CCRN, VAD-C).The outlined content and attention to detail in this resource reminded me of the foundational elements of this critical specialty by broadcasting the core concepts in a relatable and concise manner. With that, the subject matter is both advanced and condensed, allowing the novice cardiac ICU professional enough context to know what content they should hold themselves responsible for, while the advanced professional can also use the information as a pocket reference for educational review, and reference purposes in the acute setting.Highly recommend this resource for the following:-Any ICU RN studying for CCRN-Graduate Nurse in the cardiac ICU-Seasoned Nurse in the cardiac ICU (or any ICU core staff / float pool)-Acute Care CRNP in the cardiac ICU- J.Shouey

Amazing!
As an experienced Cardiac ICU nurse, I found this book to be an outstanding resource for understanding critical cardiac care topics like EKGs, hemodynamics, Impella IABP, ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, and pacemakers. Its comprehensive yet accessible approach makes complex concepts easy to grasp, providing invaluable insights for both newcomers and seasoned professionals in cardiac care. What impressed me most is the book’s approach to EKGs. It goes beyond mere identification of rhythms and delves into the 'why' behind them, which is crucial in a critical care setting, specially since we know that EKGs are the most difficult thing to understand when first entering the ICU. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your knowledge, this guide is a valuable addition to your nursing library. It has certainly earned its place on my bookshelf, and I anticipate referring to it frequently at work!

Practical information for both new and experienced nurses.
Written in a simple way to make it easy for new nurses to understand, yet in depth enough to provide advanced knowledge for experienced nurses as well. This book is a great resource for any critical care nurse and covers topics such as ekg interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, pacemakers, and advanced cardiac support devices in a practical, hands-on style. I will be recommending this book to all of my colleagues.

Very helpful!
I’m a new grad and have continually used this book as a helpful resource while working in the CICU! I had an impella patient last night and didn’t get the chance to have one while on orientation, and this book explained everything I needed to know about troubleshooting, monitoring, and assessing my patient. Definitely one of my favorite tools to reference during my shifts.

Not as advanced as I thought it was but I can still use it for a study project
I expected more from this book but I am not disappointed with it because I can use it as a reference for my CCRN study aide

Perfect CICU RN bedside reference
This book is a great reference for both novice and experienced ICU RNs. It covers topics all cardiac ICU nurses should be familiar with and I really appreciate the way it is broken down into relatable verbiage and graphics. I keep it at the bedside as a quick reference guide and to help explain new concepts to my orientees. I love that I can highlight and write additional notes in my personal copy, but I would recommend every ICU at least have a copy at their nurses station for all to reference!
