Maytag M1202 Digital Smartfill Iron

WOW... would give it 10 stars if I could. I am very picky about my iron and this one exceeded my expectations. The removable water fill is very convenient and easy to use. The stream produced by this iron is perfect . I was amazed at how quickly I could iron a shirt. Warms up super fast and very easy to use. Very well made and sturdy. I truly can't recommend it enough... it will not disappoint !!!!!

Professional quality iron and steamer at a value. This iron / steamer is a life saver. I travel with it for business and pleasure. Besides its size, the removable water tank makes traveling with this powerful unit a cinch. I could be running late for a meeting in another city, fire this unit up and it's ready for use in under a minute. I probably use it as much as a steamer as I do an iron. Sometimes you need steam for other things than clothes, whether its curtains, fabric furnishers or even cleaning up a mess from a pet. I find myself using this item on a daily basis. No matter how well I fold or pack my clothes, what a difference a little ironing and/or steaming makes. Makes your whole appearance improve. This unit has been a trusty daily refresher of many things and despite its precision digital thermostat, ceramic surface and advanced features, it handles daily use without leaking or leaving a mess. No mildew. It's a piece of cake to use and stands up to being a regular road warrior too. Great value and the best non-professioal steamer or iron I've not only used but owned. It's as reliable as it is sleek, attractive as well as being an amazing value. Great purchase and great gift too!

Maytag D1202 Digital Smartfill iron. This iron does exactly what Maytag claims it does. It heats up fast (<1 minute), the water tank is easily removeable, and it is lightweight and easy to use. It looks great and feels good in my hand.I ironed three of my dress shirts, all different fabric, starching one of them. The three shirts were wrinkle-free, but the starched shirt was not as stiff as it gets if it goes to the cleaners. However, for an everyday iron, this model was sufficient. The two features that set it apart are the heat-up speed and the removeable water tank, which is easy to empty and clean after ironing. You don’t have to worry (as much) about mold growing in the tank.I gave a 4-star rating instead of a 5 because there were only three heat settings. I would have liked to have more control over the heat, but it still did the job.

I love this iron. This is my first purchase of a Maytag iron. It is sturdy, sleek looking and comfortable to use. It heats up very quickly and irons smoothly. The three way automatic off feature is a bonus.This iron allows verticals steaming, great for curtains. There is also a self cleaning feature.I highly recommend this iron.

LOVE how fast this iron heats up and how easy (and much safer) it is to refill with water given the removable tank, and a separate tank is so much easier to keep clean. A working mom, every second counts, and this iron had my little ones' special picture day outfits looking crisp and catalogue-worthy in no time. Even stubborn, deep-set wrinkles are no match for the spray and steamer options.

I dislike this iron on several levels. First and foremost, the glaringly bright blue LED display lights caused me to get a severe headache after ironing just a few shirts. I have never had this response to a product before. The iron also has only four heat settings. The steam function only works on two of those four heat settings, the water reservoir is quite small, and was nearly empty after ironing just two shirts. I replaced this $100 plus dollar iron with my Black and Decker Digital that has 7 heat presets, steam intensity that can be controlled at any setting, a larger water reservoir, and a display that is much easier on these eyes of mine. Why didn't I just get the Black and Decker instead? Guess I was looking to try something new and the reviews for this iron were so positive. I don't get the other uber-positive reviews now that I've tried it. Big fail as far as I'm concerned.

AMMENDED REVIEW 7/11/19 I originally gave this product a glowing 5 star review last week before it was even a year old it completely stopped working. I called Maytag as its under warranty and after a lot of hassle there sending out a cheaper iron. Hmmm seams they don’t even make this one anymore. Gee wonder why?Great iron. I am extremely picky about the iron I use. In fact I returned the first one I purchased at a different location. This is a nice weight, has great steam without scorching my clothes and most important gets the wrinkles out quickly.

Great iron. I wish it had a retractable power cord, but it’s still a better iron than any previous ones I’ve owned that do have the retractable cord.The removable water tank is a great feature that I’ve never had on an iron before. Also, this iron comes in multiple colors but Amazon does not provide an option to choose colors. I ordered it thinking it was going to be gray/blue and the one I received is green/white. I ended up buying it again and it came in the right color(gray/blue) and easily returned the green one.
