17'' Magnetic Sweeper

Works very well for the price! Will save a lot of flat tires. Make sure to use clamps on handle. The magnet seems to be really strong. I'm sure if you spend five times the amount you can get something better. Although this functions exactly as you need it to it rolls easily and definitely picks up Nails Staples and every other metal object!

I just had my roof replaced and there were nails everywhere. Knowing that I would only need to use this once, I opted for the cheaper model and it turns out to work really well. Sure, its magnet isn't as strong as a bigger model so it can't pick up any nails that are hidden deep in the dirt, rocks, or grass, but for the price it's done a good job. I suppose you can always upgrade it by sticking some neodymium magnets on it. The wheels are small so it struggles on a push stroke over patchy grass or big gravels, but a pull stroke works just fine for those. This is a great tool for the average home owner.

Fantastic tool and made clean up easy. Works well in short grass. Magnet isn’t very strong though so it does start missing stuff in taller grass. Also the wheels don’t offer enough clearance to use on 57 stone so some stuff gets knocked off. Still way better than trying to bend over and pick up debris for hours!

This was great! I had roofer and gutter install, I KNEW there were nails but I collected hundreds of them in my parking area and yard. Many were over 100 years old dating to construction of house! THis item really works. My grandkids, ages 6, 12, and 14 spent hours out using it. Really easy to push.

I bought this to pick up nails and screws around our home that is under construction. It was simple to put together, although the instructions could be a little better. I think the design has been modified since the instructions were written. It picked up smaller pieces of metal, but if something was the least bit lodged into the ground it wouldn’t pick it up. For this reason I decided to return it. If it’s missing stuff that I can see, then it’s also missing the nails I can’t see (which are the more dangerous ones. I will go with a sweeper that has a stronger magnet.

I think it is a good product, especially considering the low cost. The handle could be a little longer. I have used larger sweepers, with more features, to get up nails in a half-acre parking lot. This item would not be a good choice for a job of that size. That said, I think it works fine for smaller jobs around the house. I used it after a small roofing repair to get up roofing nails and metal shavings. It worked well for that purpose. I did not want my lawnmower turning that stuff into projectiles that could injure someone or damage my lawnmower.
