EGO Power+ String Trimmer Attachment, Battery Powered, 16" Trimmer Attachment with POWERLOAD, Use with Power Head Multi-Head System - STA1600

I've used this a lot to clear brush on family property. I last used it to clear a long, winding walking trail in our woods. I'm using this with an older Power head and it is powerful. Works great for knocking back thorn bushes!

Anything over 3 inches of snow will take a few extra swipes to clear. But anything less than 3 inches, this tears through it with fantastic efficiency. A bit heavy, but for good reason to really dig into the snow.

I’ve used this a few times now and I have nothing to complain about. I was definitely cutting through the brush pretty well and fast. I love that I can pull this out of the main unit very easily and not have to purchase a fully dedicated tool. I used it for about 30 minutes and did not lose much battery.

The hedge trimmer attachment works great, with an adjustable blade angle. I use it to maintain a 7 ft high hedge, so I can top the hedge without getting on a ladder. The down side is that this tool is fairly heavy, so it will give you a real workout. Overall, it is high quality but tires me out quickly. It is very comparable in function and weight to my old Stihl hedge trimmer. Battery life is great, and the tool is well balanced.

This brush attachment for my eGo power head is the perfect partner to the power shovel. I use it to brush the snow off of my decks and sidewalks when the snow isn’t deep enough for the snowblower. It’s a bit heavy but using it is about as easy as vacuuming. So far I love it

Remember the TV series "Home Improvement", where the protagonist's usual solution to any problem was, "It needs more power!" You won't be saying that about this hedge trimmer. Or remember the movie "Crocodile Dundee" and the line said to the knife-armed mugger, "That's not a knife, mate. [pulls out enormous knife] THIS is a knife." Well, you can deliver that line with this hedge trimmer. It's powerful. It's big. Also, I was trimming trees above our fenceline when I hit a hidden cast iron pole flag holder. The trimmer instantly stopped, there was no discernible damage, and I was able to keep going. I trimmed trees overhanging a fence line up as high as I could reach without a ladder, and trimmed a small tree in our front yard. The battery charge was barely dented; I'd guess it was at 90-95% when I put the battery back on the charger. The downside, which is almost worth removing a star but not quite, is that the combination of the power head, battery (a relatively small 5ah), and hedge trimmer are heavy. Actually, that's not quite true. They are HEAVY. Really heavy. Add to that the fact that the combo of the power head and the pole and the trimmer itself are very long, and you've got something that is difficult to balance and unwieldy due solely to the big trimmer weight at the end. It is tough for me to use for any extended length of time, especially overhead. And I'm a big muscular guy. I found myself wishing that it was shorter by default and an extension was an option, the same way EGO did their pole saw. But I'd give every single other thing about it 6 stars if Amazon would let me, so I guess it balances out (wry pun intended).

Coolest attachment for the EGO Power system! Will clear so much dirt with minimal effort. Great for home use, construction sites or just to fluff up your synthetic turf.

Beautiful results! I am 5'2" and found it a little heavy because of the battery - but used to that as I have several EGO attachments. The edger left a very finished look that I could not get by hand. It took a few tries to get used to it. Wear eye protection! It kicks up rocks/mulch etc. Totally worth the money to have beautiful edges around the garden/driveway etc.

Great product. Works better than expected. I see why people say it's heavy and a lot of work to use, but it's manageable and worth it. So much faster and more effective than raking. Not only gets the rocks from gravel driveway but all small debris from trees and sticks that is hard to rake. I actually use it with an 80V greenworks pro attachment capable trimmer. I didn't want to switch because I have about 6 or 7 tools that use the same 80v batteries. First I removed the nylon bushing in the steel tubing. Than the small round bar drive shaft going down to the gear box pulled right out. In a vise I used a grinder and file to change the slightly larger spline tip to a square (keystock looking) tip. I had to cut it down a bit as well with a zip disc. Luckily everything was larger and I just slowly took off material to fit the male tip into the female adapter on the greenworks. Took less than an hour to do the work and put everything together. Now I would probably work with other brands as well.

This is a POWER tiller. I was surprised how well it can tear up roots and soil. Goes 4-5” deep on the first pass and down further on the second pass. Solid machine.
