Something that makes you feel nostalgic for a small price :)
I read the reviews and a lot of people don’t like the recording option but I bought this plainly for the enjoyment of play and listening to my cassettes, once I got it I immediately put some AA batteries in and the sound from the speaker was surprising loud! Put my headphones in a it was clear and didn’t have any issues! There is no auto reverse but that’s alright I just have to reverse the cassettes manually. Playing it out loud with no ads or phones gives me a nostalgic warm feeling of being a kid again and I’m in love! Beautiful color and buttons are sturdy! Unfortunately there is no belt clip but I can just buy one to attach or make my own:) affordable and plays music what else can a girl ask for!

Here are Updated Instructions for Newer Version of Audacity as of May 2025
Worked perfectly right out of the box. Know that the printed instructions that come with it are out of date and don't correspond to the interface of the latest version of Audacity. I figured it out, though, and want to share that you go to Edit ->Preferences ->Audio Settings ->Record [Set to Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input]. Click on Recording in the left pane and put a check in the box labeled Sound Activated Recording and Audible Input Monitoring, the latter if you want to hear the song through you device's speakers rather than the cassette unit. Also, the instructions say it saves the music as a 128 MP3 file but if you choose Export you have plenty of format options to save, from WAV to a 320 MP3 file. Once you save your file, be sure to right click on it and enter the metadata if you plan to drop it into your music library.

Perfect for what I needed (play music)
Can't speak to the recording or converting bc I didn't buy it for that but the sound quality is nice and loud. There's a slight fuzz when using headphones and not much bass on the speakers but that's just fine for me. Infinitely better than my last player. Buttons are nice and clunky too. Bonus for the door being really nice. It's far from perfect if you want computer or phone quality but I can't have that at my job so this is more than enough for me to still jam out.

Great Little Player - Transfer via USB-C Worked Fine.
I bought this to transfer a special 45+ year old cassette tape to MP3. I was a little concerned because I had not played the tape in at least 40 years and had no idea if it would work or if the player might rip it. The tape played flawlessly and the Audacity software recommended in the link in the box worked perfectly. I connected the unit to my computer via the included USB-C to USB cord and it worked the first time. After I tried part of it the Audacity software was having trouble recognizing the unit again, but I just had to go to the Transport menu and refresh the audio input device. After that it worked great. The sound quality was decent on the built in speaker and excellent on the MP3 transfer. Highly recommended!

Great product. Reliable and safe for your cassettes
So far this product has been great and I have zero complaints. Works much better than my cassette player in my Philips boombox which destroyed several of my cassettes. I am now listening to tapes again!!!
