Good Value Backpacking or Emergency Stove - No Fuel Included
This folding steel stove is designed for use of "Fire Dragon" Gelled Alcohol Fuel 'blocks' (not included). This Fuel is available on Amazon, but expensive for what it is ($9 for 6 blister packets, or $1.50 ea v.s. $0.50 to $1 per 14g Hexamine tablet or tablets). Note that the burn time for the 27g gelled fuel is about 5 minutes, comparable to the 'effective burn' time of 14g of Hexamine. The stove is well built, with a central cavity to accept and burn the gelled fuel (or a Hexamine tablet, for that matter. More importantly, the stove comes with a slip-in-place steel plate that acts as a windshield, greatly improving effectiveness of any of these "low flame velocity" fuels. One can store 3 of the Gelled Fuel Packets in the stove. The "burn chamber" cavity is not sealed at the bottom corners, however, so a liquid fuel or a Gell that liquifies can leak from the chamber - either solder seal the corners or safely test any other fuel gel or even Hexamine tablet to insure burning residue doesn't leak. You can store a couple Hexamine tablets, a few Storm Matches, and a match striker strip in the cavity, with two gel packets to the left and right, making this a versatile day packing stove or emergency stove for your vehicle.

Solid build
If you are here you more than likely know exactly what you’re looking at. It’s small, lightweight, and versatile and with a little soldering or perhaps JB Weld, water tight. I ordered 3, 2 for my wife and I for longer hikes and 1 to experiment with. I stole the soldering idea from another reviewer(I got a very cheap iron) and have put just about anything in it that is combustible and my results are below.-The edges are very sharp, I have been cut a lot for various reasons.-In pretty much every test the flame pushes out the opposite side of the wind screen. I even used a secondary, large screen and same result, so I would order a second stove for the screen or make one.-Because of the large fire box area DIY some fire gel and you could cook an entire meal.

Great training stand-in for the real Esbitt you'll want to pack when you really leave pavement.
Sturdy steel, but that makes it weigh just a bit more than the smallest Esbitt which will do the same job in a smaller cargo footprint. The included wind screen helps cheap tablets stay lit until they're really going hot. At its price point when I bought it, it's great for informal hikes and getting the kids familiar with using this type of stove without starting the heating/oxidizing/corroding cycle (that eventually kills any stove in this class) on a slightly more expensive Esbitt. However, as of this writing, this unit's price is only about two bucks less than the $10 small Esbitt, which comes with a half dozen 14g Esbitt heat tabs (which are the only ones my experience will permit me to purchase anyway). I recommend the Esbitt as a better deal, but this one does live up to its performance claims and is a good deal as long as you consider it a "consumable" tool. Mind the burrs along the die-cut/stamped edges when you first take it out of the box.

Really nice stove
This is a very good stove. Concept-wise it is nothing groundbreaking, but it works very well for what it is meant to do. This stove is quite similar to the esbit stoves if you are familiar with those, although there are a couple of differences.First, the esbit stoves use fuel tablets that are made from hexamine. While hexamine tablets are cheap, they smell very strongly like shrimp/fish. You have to be careful when storing them. Some people have also mentioned that hexamine does not burn cleanly, so be aware of that if you are boiling water or other consumables. This stove burns alcohol tablets. These tablets do not smell and burn much cleaner. This stove can also burn gel fuel while the esbit cannot, as there are holes in the bottom. The second (smaller) difference is that this stove comes with a small windshield which is nice. My esbit did not come with one.The only complaint I have with this stove is that fuel tablets are not included, and a little on the expensive side. Aside from that I would highly recommend this stove as an alternative to hexamine stoves.

A bloody nice wee stove
As described. Some of the edges could be a little smoother but none are rough. For the price, I'm happy to spend 60 seconds with some sand paper. Neat little stove.

A good backup stove thats lite weight.
Super simple to use. Uses all solid fuses. Very lightweight and has no moving parts to worry about. This is a part of my cook system. Butane stove, alcohol stove and solid fuel. Always carry a spare stove. The solid stove has no moving parts aside of unfolding the legs. Solid fuel burns 10 to 15 minutes and makes no noise or fumes.
