This was the best value bear spray I could find, though bear spray in general is still fairly expensive. That said, it’s an important safety tool, and knowing how to use it properly matters just as much as owning it. I strongly recommend watching instructional videos and practicing with a blue, inert (practice) canister before relying on the real one. In a real encounter, you won’t have time to think—bears move fast, and the spray needs to be ready and accessible, not tucked away in a pack. Once you know how to deploy it, it’s straightforward to use, but preparation is key. The canister itself is a bit bulky, but that’s typical for bear spray. While I haven’t had to use it yet (and hope I never do), it feels like solid protection as long as you understand where and how to spray. Overall, it’s a good safety investment if you take the time to practice and stay prepared.

Luckily I haven’t had to use the bear spray yet (and hope I never will!) so I can’t evaluate this product’s effectiveness, but I wanted to give some feedback on the wearability and use. About a month ago we saw a bear on our property when driving in our truck. Although neighbors had reported bear sightings, I had not personally seen one until then. I hike the property a lot so was totally freaked out and wanted some protection. I was looking for something that I could carry comfortably, was EPA approved and was easy to use. This product met all of my needs. The carrying strap was actually pretty cumbersome and I gave up using it, but the product is the right size to fit snuggly into the side pocket of my pants. I also practiced taking the safety clip off and pulling the “trigger” and it was super easy. But it feels very safe when you are walking with it, so no concern about accidental spraying. Overall I’m really pleased with this product-I feel much safer hiking in the woods and just hope I never need to use it!

If your neighborhood has any loose aggressive dogs roaming the area invest in this! It works wonders and it will save your precious babies from being attacked or worse. My neighborhood is known to have a high amount of roaming aggressive dogs and one of my babies was already bitten by one prior to making this purchase. Before buying this spray we’ve been chased by 3 dogs with one successful attack. It’s only been a week since I purchased this and it already showed me it was a great investment. It prevented me and my dogs from being attacked again during our routine morning walk today. As the dog charged towards us aggressively I sprayed it and it stopped right in his tracks and ran away quickly. I’m soooooo happy that I invested in this it will save me and my dogs from a lot of attacks in the future I know.

Have not had to use the product yet, I hope I never do. The holster it came with seems to be very well made with great retention, I just wish it had a Velcro strap on the top to hold the mace in the holster. Either way I have carried it on 3 hikes so far and it has been comfortable and held in fine. The safety allows for easily carrying it without fear of setting it off. The advertised spray distance is all I will ever need, and the value is exactly what I was looking for. All in all, it looks like a great product.

Thankfully we haven't had any encounters with bears, however, my wife decided to test it out. Sprayed some rocks near the fire pit and promptly started coughing and running. This stuff is super strong and the spray shoots at least 40 feet. The carrying case makes it super simple to attach to your belt or a pack. We highly recommend this as an added layer of protection.

Hopefully, will never have to use it. We had quite a few bears visiting our property at the end of last summer. A culvert basin that stayed filled with water was drawing them it. This product had good reviews and price was good. Just one more line of defense.

Have not tested it yet. But for now I will give it the benefit of the doubt, especially considering it is supposed to shoot 40 feet.
