Excellent quality

This is a square neck scarf, measuring approx 70cmx70cm. It’s a really nice, soft fabric that’s actually polyester, with a shinier top side that gives a slight sheen and depth to its appearance. I went for the burgundy colour option, which looks like a deep red-pink, perhaps more burgundy to magenta in my opinion. The photos actually make it look more red than it is in real life because my iPhone doesn’t like the weird lighting indoors.The quality is so-so for the price (£5.85 at the time of writing). The stitching isn’t excellent but there were no huge issues with loose stitching at least, and I noticed it’s not entirely square so it’s slightly skewed. The issue for me is that there’s a mark or two on the scarf I received that’s quite noticeable. It looks like a stain or water/oil type of mark as it’s essentially a dark patch so it isn’t going to come off and that’s disappointing.The soft fabric is lovely but it does make it harder to keep it in place, so when I wore it around my neck it came undone pretty quickly. Given the mark on mine I won’t be wearing it out but I might tie it around the strap of my handbag and pin it in place. It’s very short when looking at the length to tie it so keep that in mind.It’s a lovely lightweight, silky scarf in theory but it’s not the best for practicality and the quality is a smidge disappointing. That said, I’d still consider getting another in a different colour and using it as decor on my handbag and rucksack straps, or as a very short neck tie for casual use.

The info further down this listing mentions: "Measurements may vary 2 – 3 cm ". I got my tape measure out, and this satin scarf measures 73.5cm x 70.5cm, so that's accurate information. The fabric is smooth, slippery and with a fine, even weave.The rolled edges of the scarf could be a touch neater in their stitching, but you wouldn't notice that at a glance, and given this is very slippery fabric to work with, this is me nit-picking more than anything else. The corners are pretty neat, all things considered.I've gone for a burgundy colour that will look good in the Autumn or as part of an evening ensemble. It's nice that there's a range of colours available to choose from. And the fabric square itself is versatile; I could wear this wrapped around my shoulders, as a headscarf, or around my neck. Someone who likes sewing could even use it for crafts. I'm happy with this order.

The satin finish makes this scarf so slippery, it is likely to be unmanageable. Sadly it is also far too short to be wearable. Didn't anyone think to try these scarves on before marketing them? I am a seriously under-weight woman. Most people will have plumper necks than me.

Most of the product description refers to silk square, silk satin, etc - needless to say, there is no silk in this scarf. You have to expand the description and scroll down to the bottom before you find the word polyester. The scarf is made from cheap polyester. I have bought others polyester scares from Amazon at similar prices but which have better fabric. The finishing on he rolled edges is pretty poor too. On the plus side, the colour is a rue royal blue.
