Spicely Organic Amchoor Powder 0.40 Ounce ecoBox Certified Gluten Free

Received very quickly, decently and appropriately packed, with a 10% coupon enclosed. This is my first experience using this spice. (For an Indian dish). I have to say, it is a VERY small 'box'/packet. The box itself measures 2" x 1 1/4", and the weight of the inside packet is .55 ounces, according to my scale.(Maybe .4 without the cellophane package?? lol) Very small. But I knew that going in from another review, and so I ordered 3 boxes. I only wanted to open 1 package at a time for the small amounts I needed, and didn't want a large packet to go "stale". Good price, and FREE shipping? Gotta love it. And organic too? Yep, had to order 3. On the side of the box is: The USDA Organic Seal, an expiration date of 12/21/2017 and:"Ingredients: Organic Dried Unripe Mango".I tasted the spice thinking it would be very sweet and very mango flavored. Like the ripe orange mango's we all peel and eat at home. I was a bit surprised that it tasted a tad peppery, and a bit 'green' with a back note of "smoke". (Remember Liquid Smoke?).....just a hint. NOT off putting. Just not what I was expecting. Maybe because it was 'unripe' to begin with? Either way, a very interesting flavor and it worked great in my recipe. And I COULD pick out that slightly 'different' flavor. Glad I had it. If a recipe calls for it, I would try to have some on hand to add. I think it makes a difference.Would definitely recommend buying it from this company if you need it.

Originally I was very confused about where to find this product locally. It was not available in my major grocery chains, so I turned to Amazon.I made a chick pea recipe with it, and I was quite pleased with the flavor. I could not begin to describe, other than to say Delicious!I had resolved to not making the recipe again, as I had spent $6 of this powder and needed 1 Tbsp for my recipe - which was pretty much the entire pack (maybe 1 tsp remains).I visited an international market over the weekend and found another brand, that was $2 for 5oz. I made my same chick pea recipe with the cheaper version and the flavor was just as good. $6 for .04oz Vs. $2 for 5oz with no obvious flavor differences has me a bit upset that I purchased this product to begin with.

I like to cook and did not know about this product till I saw Indian/American Actress Padma who just wrote a cookbook and talked about this spice..and said she puts it in almost anything as her go to spice. I am now using it in many of my recipes and have had friends comment on the flavor of some of the things I have made. I will order again. I only wish it came in a larger size.

Exactly what I was looking for for Indian cooking. Though a smaller size than I had anticipated (my fault - I didn't read carefully). Delivery was through prime. I ordered on Sunday and it was delivered Monday.

If you prepare Indian dishes Amchoor Powder is an important ingredient in many of them. A little bit goes a long way...This is a very tiny package. Keep in mind this is a .4 Ounce (A little over a Tablespoon) package. The Powder smells and tastes great and as a bonus is Certified Organic.

We make a lot of home-made Indian food and this ingredient comes up quite it bit. It's hard to find in the stores, so we got it from here. I love that it's organic too! It's a really nice spice with a bit of sweetness.
