Good cover, great price!
We have an 18' diameter pool and bought the size recommended for it. It covered the pool exactly as shown in their photos... which is perfect. (If you want your cover to have more overhang then buy a larger size, but I do think their photos are accurate/non-misleading!) We live in Indiana and get pretty strong winds at times. I think a lot of ppl make the mistake of trying to keep all the water off the top of their pool cover, but the weight of the water or ice on top is what keeps gusting winds from billowing under your pool cover and ripping it... and possibly your pool's cap rail.... away. Regarding durability: No it's not going to last 12 years, and you have to read the fine print to see how they're warrantying that, but anyone who's owned a pool for a length of time knows that a 12-year pool cover is too good to be true (unless maybe some space-age material costing a LOT more than 40 bucks!) My experience: got us through 4 winters. The parts that remained at least mostly submerged look to be in good shape still. The edges, above water & exposed to sun are now very fragile and can poke a finger through. So... ordering another one to use this fall.

Lasted the whole winter in bad conditions
Last year I purchased this exact cover and it didn't work out. By early spring the cover was torn and basically only functioned as a sun shade. I did some research and realized that this was a user error and not necessarily the product, so I gave it another chance. This time I was very careful and followed the directions. The cover was put on correctly and so far has held up to some very windy conditions... The same ones that did in last year's cover. I will update if this cover is shredded in the spring, but I don't anticipate that being the case. It isn't the thickest cover, but should get 2-3 years. Even the expensive ones start to fail after that. UPDATE: We have had some terrible wind over the past few weeks and the cover has held up well. I recently drained the water off the top and there is no damage to the cover. As I said before, the key is to follow the directions and make sure the cover isn't pulling on the side of the pool. It has to be sitting inside with slack. If so it will hold up. No cover will make it with all the weight of water pulls on it. Follow the directions and this is just as good as covers costing three times as much. UPDATE #2: We are now on year four and the cover has held up. I will definitely buy this again. Just make sure you follow the directions and it isn't too taunt and you will be good to go!

Good Cover - Good Value - Ridiculous Warranty
This was a replacement for an identical cover we bought at the end of the summer of 2021. It lasted 3 winters on our above-ground pool. We tried to get 4 seasons out of it, but it was leaking as soon as we put it on and we knew it wouldn't last through the winter. So we ordered another one. This cover is big enough -- bigger than necessary actually -- so it's relatively easy to install over the pool. If it this one lasts 3 years like the last one did, it's a pretty good value for about 70 bucks, including tax. The 12 yr. warranty is absurd. It's a pro-rated credit for a replacement and you have to ship it back to them. Nobody could ever fold it up small enough to get it back in the box it came in, and you have to pay shipping both ways -- for the returned cover and for the replacement. Shipping would cost more than the credit they'd give you. They must know nobody will ever use this warranty. Advertising 12 years is basically fraudulent.

Update on this pool cover... Don't waste your time or money on this one
Well as suspected, this pool cover is crap. It is very thin and now is full of holes. I have it installed correctly and it has only been a couple of months since it was purchased. We have had 1 rainstorm and no really stormy days. This cover is disintegrating faster than a basic plastic tarp from Harbour Freight and the company claims it will last for 12 years!!! Do not waste your money on this cover. I have not bothered to try to return it. It will cost me more money to return it than its worth. Live and learn. I have my doubts that this tarp will hold up for 12 years. It is fairly thin feeling but it appears to be holding up so far. The cable and ratchet system are also very light-weight but did what they were intended to do with plenty of extra cable left over. I really like that this pool cover does not have a bunch of holes in it like every other one I have purchased. Why on earth would I want holes in a cover intended to keep debris and rainwater OUT of the pool water all winter? The other thing I like about this cover is the underside is black which is helping the keep warmth in the pool water. It may or may not matter when it freezes this winter, again it is a "wait and see" thing for me. The number of grommets this cover has is pretty cool. I was almost able to situate the cover so the cable that you weave through the grommets could be passed under all of the steel "legs" around the outside of the pool. My pool diameter is possibly smaller than the cover was designed to fit. That's ok by me because the cover fits down inside the pool edge far enough that there is no way the wind can bother it once it fills with some water. I do not need to attach the cover to anything else that could damage the outside of the pool liner now. The ONLY reason I do not feel confident in giving 5 stars is because of the density of the cover and the bare minimum size of the cable and ratchet. They work but for how long, 12 years is a pretty ridiculous claim. If it survives one year then I might have to reconsider my rating.

Did the job I wanted it to do!
I bought this cover with the intention of using once, throwing out, and buying a new one and it worked perfectly for that. I don’t want to mess around with cleaning and storing it. We opened to a crystal clear pool this year after a winter of snow, rain, and wind. It held up well and I will be repurchasing for this year. The winch tool is cheaply made and broke right away but we made it work and also weighed down the cover with milk jugs filled with water. Without that, I’m not sure it would hold up as well if you live where it gets windy in the winter. A few corners of the cover would flap up a bit in the wind but the milk jugs kept it from causing a problem. When we took the cover off it was in great shape so it might be able to be used a second year but again I’d rather buy new then clean and store. Will purchase again!

Expect one winter of service
I'm in eastern Pennsylvania, so the cover goes on for October through April (7 months). This is probably the most cheaply-made cover I have ever put on the pool. As it is, I usually only get two seasons out of a high-quality cover. I suspect this one will last just one season. The cover itself is like a large round tarp with grommets, nothing special. It feels thin. The higher-quality units I have purchased in the past are thicker and heavier. The provided cable was long enough and does the job of holding the cover fast. The provided winch is about the same quality as I have gotten with every cover I have purchased. The cover I got had a defect such that a hole was punched in it (the size of a grommet hole). It was not in a position for a grommet, so it was clearly a manufacturing error. However, it is close enough to the outer edge of the cover that it does not affect the function of it. I think it increases the likelihood that the cover will tear in that spot. The size of the cover is more than enough for a 24' round swimming pool. I estimate there is about one foot of overlap on each side. This is with an air pillow in the center of the pool and the water level about a foot from the top. Our pool's location is such that it is tough on the winter covers. There are nearby maple and pine trees that drop plenty of leaves and needles onto the cover. Although I try to keep it clean of those things by using the leaf rake, the pine needles in particular seem to destroy even the most rugged winter covers after two seasons. Based on the quality of this one, I expect it to last just one season. I learned the hard way...Once the cover allows water to penetrate it, it is worthless and you will be opening a green pool in the spring. One of the reasons I chose this unit was because it was Amazon Prime eligible. I do not think I would purchase this cover again. I would go with either the cheapest cover (which I hope would also last one season) or try a different brand at a similar pricepoint to see if I luck out and get better quality. Your mileage may vary. If you are located in a warmer climate where the cover is not used as long or not subject to strong winds, snow, ice, leaves and pine needles, a cover like this one could last you several years. If you are looking at pool covers, you already know that pools are expensive to operate, and the winter cover is a trivial expense in the big picture. Good luck.

Best one I've bought in 14 years!
That time of the year to close the pool and protect it from the falling leaves. Also time to purchase a new pool cover as the last one had made it through two seasons. The pool experts at most sites indicate that if you get a pool cover to last more than 2 years, you did well; fact is, they are really not designed to last more than 2 years. You do have options, a 10 year, a 12 year, but never believe that it will last that long. This pool cover comes with a 2 year full warranty and then the rest is prorated (just replace it - don't expect to really use the warranty). Ok, so why did I give this one 5 stars? I knew what to expect and wasn't being un-realistic about the warranty. However, this cover has benefits over others I have bought in the past. Having owned our above ground pool for 14 years, that means I have purchased about 7 of these. What makes this one different? Well I have a 24 foot round pool and I use a 6' pillow in the middle. Typical covers have had a hard time covering the pool even though they stated that there would be 1.5 feet overlap. Throw in the pillow and the cover barely fit. This one has a true 2 foot or more overlap for a 24' foot pool; it also allows for an 18 inch drop in water, leaving plenty of material to completely cover your pool. I put the huge 6' foot pillow in the middle, covered the pool and was surprised, amazed and ecstatic that this cover covered completely. Now, read the instructions: Do no drain water off the top of the cover during the winter time (I always did this, maybe doing so contributes to weakening the pool cover). Their reasoning is, this protects it from the wind damage. Make sure your water doesn't drop more than the 18 inches (check). Oh, and the grommets seem to be more of them than others I have bought and everyone of them were in place (unlike others I have purchased where there were fewer of them and some of them weren't there. The only complaint is this. If they would box the cover inside out, it would make installation simple. I try to not put in on my deck (don't want to snag it) or open it on the ground (and get trash in the pool). So I opened it up on top of the pool, carefully unfolding it, but since it was folded with the outside on top, makes it very difficult; flip the initial packaging and this would be the perfect cover. When I take it off in spring, it will be folded outside in so that installation is a breeze!
