Mobil 1 M1-104A Extended Performance Oil Filter

Nothing much really needs to be said. Mobil 1 oil and their filters have always been top tier. I use mobil 1 religiously in my own cars. It seems that this filter is an alternate model number from the old mi-104. And some brief research states the "a" to the Mobil 1 part number signifies possible longer OCI's over the regular one. IIRC 99.0 @ 25 microns vs the new 99.6?% @ 30 microns. But if that's the case, the older model filter will filter better/more efficient over the new one. 25 micron vs 30 micron. Smaller is better....at least when talking about oil filters lol. Needless to say I decided to put one in anyway only because Mobil 1 has a good reputation. Also just note that Amazon isnt accurate with most of the parts for your car. I have a 2018 wrx as one of my cars and a lot of parts I see that I know fits my car, it will say "does not fit" on the Amazon site. So be aware of that. I now look for parts for 2015 wrx because you get a broader, more definitive parts that fit list. 2015-2018 wrx are all the same btw. Just for those who want to know. I almost gave this a 4 stars but I couldn't discredit the actual part. The reason why I really wanted to put 4 stars was because there was a delay with the shipping. So I couldn't penalize the actual part for the rating. I actually dont know who's to blame. It was supposed to do my oil change last weekend but a late shipping forced me to postpone my oil change to this weekend. Not the end of the world but it kinda sucks when you're expecting a part for a weekend you're off from work, then it says delayed and now you can't do it.

For a company thats been around longer than I have, its great to see a company that actually cares about improving their products. (when the world aint going crazy) I put on LOTS of miles, between 1000-1250 a week. when you break down the price of the "other products" you pretty much break even. with this you get peace of mind that you are not damaging your engine. the bonus is that you dont have to change it as often, which for the DIYer like myself is less time crawling under the car, for the pay someone else type person... now THAT is money you will be saving.

This is the only filter I intend to use in my 2020 KIA Soul EX. Paired with Mobil 1 Extended Performance synthetic motor oil my Soul performs flawlessly. I will drive for 1 year or 10K miles between each oil change. I do the same in my 2011 Jeep Liberty Limited and have always had a great running Jeep. I expect my results will be the same in my KIA Soul EX.

Even though Amazon's garage feature says this filter does not fit my car, it does. All the cross reference guides from various filter manufacturers show it crosses with the filters that Amazon's garage says do fit. I am using Mobil 1 oil in our Hyundai and this filter fits perfectly and pairs well with the oil. I change it based on the car's oil change reminder, typically every 7000 miles, so the extended mileage feature has not really been used, but it is as good a filter as any on the market and much better than Fram based on independent lab testing. I plan to continue using this filter as long as I own the car.

Been using Mobil 1 filters and synthetic oil for years and never had engine problems. The longest run was on a Toyota Camry which ran for 18 years through all kinds of weather and our kids driving it. Got a better price on-line than in the stores but you need to shop around since that is not always the case.

Mobil1 products get good reviews. When I saw the filters for about 75% of local prices I purchased them. Recommend.
