Great Watch!
I love this watch its old school with reminder options that don't easily kill the battery.

Attractive Alternative to Ugly Smart Watched
This is an attractive hybrid watch. A great alternative if you are looking for something more traditional. The app could use some work.

3.5* a music lovers' best friend, but not much else
I had wanted a smartwatch for a bit of time, as I am consistently using my iPhone throughout my day, mostly for texting and listening to music, so seeing this 'hybrid' seemed great. As just a watch, it's rather nice looking and has a bold face, but not to the point of being loud. Beyond just the looks, here is what I have experienced:Pros:As a guy that listens to music almost constantly, this watch is perfect. By assigning the top and bottom button on the right side (via the fossil q app) i can control my music, be it the volume or the track itself. Being able to pause a song, skip a song, or skip multiple songs without needing to touch my phone is very convenient. Plus, the range is pretty strong; I was recently about 30-40 feet away from my phone and needed to pause my song and the bluetooth was strong enough that I was able to stop it and then start it back up with no problem. This is a music fans' best friendCons:Honestly, this thing is damn confusing, and the app and booklet that came with the watch don't really help. The right-center button for me is apparently 'toggle menu' but I don't know how to read the center dials. I think mine pertains to my steps, but I don't recall setting a goal for myself or even setting that up as my step counter. For all I know, it could be keeping track of calories. That portion is so user-unfriendly that the company needs to have detailed instructions either in the included booklet or as an FAQ built into the app. Because apart from telling time and watching the dials go ballistic when I have reached some milestone (again, don't know what it is), the watch face is basically useless.Honestly, though, I use this for one thing and one thing only: music. For that, this watch gets an easy 4.5*. Sadly, for the rest of it and the VERY unfriendly app and interface (though assigning the buttons to a specific task is easy, at least) this warrants only a 2.5*, strengthened by the fact that the watch does look very nice and if there were better instructions on how to read the damn thing, it is quite involved and no doubt offers a lot.

Looks good and has practical usefulness as a hybrid watch.
Now this is the type of hybrid watch that is helpful. This one can be adjusted to let me know who is calling on my cell phone by my setting it to have the watch hands move to a certain number depending on who calls. That's helpful. It also adjusts to other functions on my phone. A great idea and btw, it looks nice too. The band is leather and I like the blue face.

Attractive watch, still not entirely sure how to use it
This is a hybrid smartwatch. In theory you get the best of both worlds, but in reality it's a bit odd. Example: you can program the watch to react when you get calls or messages on your phone. One of the hands will spin to whichever number you have assigned to a frequent contact. I guess this is a neat feature but it also seems a bit antiquated in the current age of smartwatches. You can also use it to cycle through music on your phone, but then there are lots of other cheap equipment (e.g. wireless headphones) that can do the same thing.I reviewed a Kate Spade hybrid smartwatch not long ago and the same problem applies here: there is a glaring dearth of directions for how to use the watch. For some reason, companies are insisting are releasing their newest products in the Apple style: almost no accompanying instructions. Often times you can find in-depth instructions via their websites, but not too infrequently they're difficult to track down. Apple products are fairly intuitive so we don't notice it as much. I can't say the same about these smartwatches and similar devices. As for the appearance of the watch, it is very attractive. It looks like a traditional watch so you can dress it up or down. It's a bit heavy, but not terribly uncomfortable. On looks alone, I quite like it.So there you have it--positives and negatives alike. Fossil makes a quality watch and you'll get good use out of this regardless. But be aware that it might just take a while to figure out how to use it.

handsome watch but is fairly uncomfortable to wear
This is a very handsome watch but is fairly uncomfortable to wear and the smartwatch features are minimal. The leather strap is thick and seems very durable, but it also makes it rather stiff. This could get better with time but in the few weeks I have been wearing the watch the leather is still really stiff. The feature to ring your phone from the watch is kinda cool but I found I set it off by accident several times. If you are constantly looking for your phone, this could be a good watch for you.The notifications are somewhat useful. If you get a call or text from a preassigned contact, the hands all go to the number you assigned to that contact. This is cool if you are driving or in a meeting and don't/can't look at your phone. The notification doesn't tell you what the text is or give you any information other than who the contact is from. The notification doesn't work for anyone outside of your contacts so not really useful for business calls. The sleep tracking is decent. It just lists 3 types of sleep: Awake, Restful Sleep and Light Sleep. Not as in depth as fitbit but useful. I like that you don't have to charge the watch. One less cord in the bathroom or next to the bed. If you think most wearable tech are ugly (which most are) and like a traditional watch, this might be a good choice for you. I like wearing this when dressing up or going out.

Looks great and watch works well. Smart features limited.
What I like most about this watch is the look of it. But since it’s a smart watch it should do a lot. It has some helpful functions like letting you know you have a phone call and allows you to control your music, but I found it confusing otherwise. Hoping they make it more user friendly when they update it.
