OK in this case it all depends. So if you have not changed your transmission fluid in 35,000 to 40,000 miles you should drain your fluid and add new fluid and then add the Liquid Moly. Note if you do the drain yourself only 1/2 of the fluid will drain out as there will be 50% of the fluid in your torque converter, and to drain this out you would add new fluid back to the transmission drive it for a few miles and then drain it again and re-add thus most of the old fluid will be removed. Note never overfill you transmission fluid so say the Liquid Moly is 160z half a quart you would need to put have a quart "less" of transmission fluid again NEVER over fill. If you don't drain the fluid yourself and take it to the shop they will know what to do. So change yourself see above, add yourself to existing fluid drain 16 oz and then add Liquid Moly. NOTE never add the this additive to a CVS transmission I.E. Nissan-Infiniti or again ANY car that is a CVS transmission!!!! Hope this helps.

Research papers specifically note that the anti-shudder properties of ATF+3 are usually degraded enough by 30,000 miles to cause noticeable shudder. So basically ATF +4 will work with this product as ATF+3 and ATF+4 are basically the same except ATF+4 lasts longer. Note if you are using this product and you have not changed your transmission fluid in a long time say 50,000 miles or so you should do so as this product works better when you have new-clean transmission fluid.

Q: Can I use this with honda atf dw1?

DW-1 is excellent for your Honda - and very reasonably priced. Stick to the DW-1 but do a 3x drain and fill on your trans.

No, it is not suitable for use in CVT transmissions.

2007 Subaru with 283K miles drives like new now

Used this product with a new AT filter on 2007 Subaru Tribeca with 283K miles. Transmission became much more quiet and shifting improvements are noticeable. Acceleration got much smoother and overall feel of car is as if it dropped 15 years of age and quarter of million miles.Great product!

Great product.

Used for my 2007 Mercedes e350 4 matic 722.6 that was having downshifting issues at low speed/RPM. Used with LIQUI moly atf 1600. 48 hours and around 50 miles in and I have a huge difference. Reviews say see difference in transmission between 100-300 miles. So hopefully I see even more improvement.Great product!

Two Tubes In an F150

Two tubes of this product did help my transmission out quite a bit. I think this product is better than Lucas or Seafoam transmission additives.

Good for shifting (not great)

I used this product on a 2010 Subaru Forester X 2.5l EJ253 with 173K miles, the trans is an auto. After putting this solution in the trans dip stick hole and driving it for about 2 days I can say it does affect how my shifting is, however I still have a small buck. compared to before it is noticeable to people that have ridden in my car, I would recommend this to anyone that has a transmission that has issues with the shift solenoids, not to someone that needs to replace their fluid for their trans.
